The dodge V10 truck is a piece of crap?
From : trey
Q: ok in my search for a new truck i came across a plethora of dodge ram v10 trucks. i mentioned the v10 to my friend and the first thing they say is they are a piece of crap. how true is that i always thought it would be cool to have a v10 but dont want any crap... i figured i would ask the people that actually own them and see what they have to say about it. .

how true is that i always thought it would be cool to have a v10 but dont want any crap... i figured i would ask the people that actually own them and see what they have to say about it. for gas mileage - they suck. but you dont by a v10-powered truck for its fuel economy right i own two of them. ive been driving around in a cummins-powered truck for the past six months though and just got back behind the wheel of my 95 3500 v10. man - now i remember why i bought that truck in the first place. compared to the cummins which isnt exactly a sloth either its damn-near scary quick off the line. if you can keep the rear wheels hooked up it will slam the back of your head against the headrest if you stomp on it. my 7200lb. dually 4x4 will do 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in about 16.3 seconds. as i said i own two v10s - the 95 has about 103000 on the odometer. the 99 has under 40k its an off-road truck mainly. the 95 truck has had no engine problems at all worst thing engine-related i had to replace was the belt tensioner and thats routine maintenance. the 99 did have a cracked head which was taken care of under warranty. later years of the v10 98-00 mostly saw some problems with something called head porosity - improper castings that allowed coolant to seep into the combustion chambers or valvetrain. overall this has been a rather uncommon problem although it certainly doesnt seem that way to the people affected by it im sure. crap hardly. your friends are either misinformed or have had their trucks spanked badly by a dodge v10 somewhere in the course of their travels especially the ford guys... ford v10 drivers absolutely hate the dodge v10 - it makes their engine look downright gutless - which of course it is .

all i know is that i kicked the crap out of my brothers v10 one day with my little 318 from 60 to 80mph. of course i had open exhaust and his is stuffed in its ass kinda like the guy named pat around here. dont get me wrong his takes off much harder than mine but once at highway speed it isnt any more impressive than my 318 in fact..as i said...i beat it 60 to 80 mph...probably because of the exhaust i have. i like my dodge good and loud it drowns out all the clanging & clunking of the various undercarriage components which so often plaque these machines. ok in my search for a new truck i came across a plethora of dodge ram v10 trucks. i mentioned the v10 to my friend and the first thing they say is they are a piece of crap. how true is that i always thought it would be cool to have a v10 but dont want any crap... i figured i would ask the people that actually own them and see what they have to say about it. .

i owned a 1999 2500 quad cab slt v10 for a couple of years and it was by far my favorite vehicle i ever owned. i had a 30ft jayco camper and we pulled that thing up and down interstate 75 and never knew it was back there. it was very responsive and actually funner drive than a couple of smaller sportier trucks i have owned. i got rid of it when we sold our camper and gas prices shot through the roof. the v10 only gets about 10 mpg whether you are pulling a huge trailer or not. i now own a 1998 1500 quad cab laramie... still a nice truck but nothing like my v10 ok in my search for a new truck i came across a plethora of dodge ram v10 trucks. i mentioned the v10 to my friend and the first thing they say is they are a piece of crap. how true is that i always thought it would be cool to have a v10 but dont want any crap... i figured i would ask the people that actually own them and see what they have to say about it. .

i live in washington we havent had a real heavy winter in a long time but in the past i found that if the sidewall to bottom tread is not rounded but squared and blocked that it grabs into the snow a lot better. and a lot of people around here recommend siping i think thats the right term. they put little cuts in the treads. it helps in the wet weather. check these guys out http//www.tirerack.com/ there are others too on the web. -- bob 01 dodge ram 1500 4x4 .

just wait till you have to have the headgaskets changed cause of leaking oil. with the cabforeward design the cylinder heads cant come off with the engine in the truck. that should keep you converted oh and its a real common problem enjoy that ford show the new f-150 no mercy. tow my boat and camper combo all over the countryside this summer. changed the fluids regularly and it just drives great. sorry but i am now a ford convert. a dyslexic man walks into a bra. .

yeah right whatever you want to believe i had a friend with a 1965 full size pontiac 389 who claimed it accelerated faster from 90 to 110 than a 396/350hp chevelle. i often wondered how these guys figure this out. is it lets accelerate from 10 to 30 mph and well see whos ahead then 20 to 40mph and see whos ahead then 30 to 50mph and see whos ahead i can see where these people apparently have a whole lot of time on their hands. you know i once raced a 396 chevelle and beat him by 2 ten thousandths to 115. that was the margin of victory at the finish line at the drag strip all i know is that i kicked the crap out of my brothers v10 one day with my little 318 from 60 to 80mph. a dyslexic man walks into a bra. .

my heater is pumping cool air again i backflushed it last year and it did great for a long time. i also have an intermittent ac leak. i finally traced it to the exchanger under the dash. i could hear it leaking inside the cab and i saw the gas leaking out of the drain in front of the firewall. lol...no..you didnt. hard to see whats odorless and colorless and is a gas... i think my best option would be to replace the heater core and the ac exchanger if that is what it is called at the same time. evaporator. what is involved with pulling this out from the dash also where is the best place to find the parts thanks william. ps i appreciate all spam. .
