Q: mike you are right on target. even if info is forgotten the owner will remember he/she had seen it somewhere before and return to the owners guide. also a small additional investment has always been for me to order the repair manual from the dealer at time of purchase. henry yes sir! if you are in to do-it-yourselfin or just want a better understanding of your vehicle a fsm is a good investment. mike indeed mike. as far back as 94 with an old v10 power factory the manual explicitly noted the transmission workaround for cold temps. ya gotta get in touch with the folks who do the writing of the manuals for dc and tell them to use more pictures. indeed! the truly sad part is i see this on an almost daily basis. perhaps im strange but i simply cannot fathom anyone who would spend something north of $30k and not take to time to spend some time reading about their investment. even though i work around these vehicles every day when i purchase one for my own use i read the manual from cover to cover and i never fail to learn something i didnt know. the best way to maximize your enjoyment from this major purchase is to take the time to read about it in the owners manual. your will learn how to work all the gizmos whats normal and whats not and most of all how to maintain it properly! my philosophy is that if it costs more than 50 bucks and it comes with a manual read the damned thing! climbing down from my soapbox thank you very much! mike -- pcolaphil to reply remove -spamnot- we have slept so long next to the sewer we can no longer smell the stench. | | | | or you could read the owners manual sigh...... | | mike | | | | | .

how do you replace the valves without out removing the heads also what does the air compressor have to do with changing the valves as tbone said the compressed air is used to hold the valves closed. theres a fitting that screws into the head in place of the spark plug that allows an air line to be connected. the cylinder has to be placed at top-dead-center or the compressed air will drive the piston down spinning the engine. anotehr method is to remove the spark plug and thread about a foot or so of clothesline rope into the cylinder. you then roll the engine over to bring the piston up and it compresses the rope against the valves holding them in place mechanically rather than pneumatically. this is the typical backyard method for changing valve springs and seals - works pretty well actually. .
