Q: tom lawrence wrote my first computer was a trs-80 mc-10 about the size of a school textbook - 4kb of ram plugged it into the tv. in 1984 my first was the original macintosh b&w. 128k. the motherboard would melt and require replacement every 6 months. then an amstrad 640k cga dual floppies. then many many more. but i went back to my roots with a power mac g5 dual processor 3gb ram. it just works. no flashing no outrageous configuration. turn it on and go. runs all things pc mac and unix. how did this thread start as a thanks and end with nerd speak - craig c. .

we had a teletype to a mainframe at a univeristy in my jr. high and a computer club. then a neighbors dad had a commodor pet i think that was the name with the cassette tape drive. he let use use it almost when ever we wanted. we wrote a few space games etc. next he got an apple ii - again we could use it. i got a job right out of highschool working for a company with a connection to a mainframe in los angeles. we leased a fixed amount of computer time and usually we had a little extra at the end of the month so i had a chance to play with that then there was college etc. my first own pc was a 12mhz pc at clone 640mb 20mb hdd in 86 or so. i havent stopped. im thinking of adding a cable modem setup to my existing dsl setup so i can have even faster vpn to work. tom lawrence wrote my first computer was a trs-80 mc-10 about the size of a school textbook - 4kb of ram plugged it into the tv. in 1984 my first was the original macintosh b&w. 128k. the motherboard would melt and require replacement every 6 months. then an amstrad 640k cga dual floppies. then many many more. but i went back to my roots with a power mac g5 dual processor 3gb ram. it just works. no flashing no outrageous configuration. turn it on and go. runs all things pc mac and unix. how did this thread start as a thanks and end with nerd speak - craig c. .
