the headlight illumination on my 1998 dodge ram 2500 cummins is so dangerously bad....i do not drive this vehicle at night. i have called the local dealership and they have no record of such a problem...and no ideas as to how to recitfy the problem. last year i replaced the bulbs with pia 9004-6545 watt...small improvement. i can drive at night on high beam...all the time. nobody flashes at me....including the folks i drive behind. the lenses look clear. are the reflective surfaces breaking down is this an electrical problem....grounding...voltage i think these are the same lights as the infamous caravan headlights. is there an aftermarket drop-in replacement that works do i have to sell this vehicle due to inadequate headlight illumination .

sounds like a plan thank you very much for the reply. i was thinking of putting radiator flush into the core and letting it soak for an hour or two and then following your instructions. david i have a 1996 ram 1500 4x2 auto 318. extended cab with 307k miles on it and i need to replace or clean the heater core its the original core. i can hear a noise that can only be from a clogged core. according to the manual i have drain the a/c in order to replace it plus it looks like i have remove about half the dashboard to get to it. any thoughts on a reasonable way to clean it out without removing it i disconnected it for the summer trying to keep the gunk out of my radiator. since it starting to get cool in the a.m. i think it time to have heat again! thanks david from under the hood remove both heater hoses and flush out the heater core with your garden hose. alternate the garden hose from one fitting to the other so you back flush it as well. if that does not free up the flow you will need to replace it. if you have an air compressor you can use compressed air as well. you may find that you need compressed air to break the blockage loose and then water to flush it out. .

tom thanks for the tip. the total task took 20 minutes with no problems encountered. steve i have an 04 3500 ram with factory towing mirrors. i broke the drivers side mirror and have a replacement. the problem is how do i remove the plastic molding to effect the swap without destroying it two of the 3 mounting screws are clear but the top door molding is probably held by clips. in which direction should i apply force and how door trim panel - removal 1. remove the interior handle 1a. remove the screw from the underside of the handle and remove the inside handle. 2. remove the screws at the mirror flag and near the inside handle 2 screws caution trim panel is attached to the door using hooks molded into the panel. do not pull the trim panelstraight off or damage to the panel and/or power switch assembly may occur 3. lift the trim panel up off the belt seal and attachment hooks and separate panel from the door slightly 4. disconnect the power window switch electrical connector and remove trim panel side view mirror - removal 1. remove door trim panel above 2. disconnect the electrical connector and remove the nuts 3. squeeze the electrical connector tabs and remove the mirror download the entire service manual http//www.hemitruckclub.com/04manual/19078-drintlpdf.pdf .

suddenly without warning rick baldwin exclaimed 9/22/2007 1119 am i am interested in hearing other owners fuel mileagemy folks just purchased one and so far there mpg looks badlike 13-14 highway! that does seem low. i was getting an average of 17mpg with a mix of really low speed and medium speed driving. more like 19 highway. these days im getting around 16 hwy but im working on fixing that. jmc .
