tbone wrote lol is this a joke who in their right mind would pay anything more for a 1500 2wd slt qc and even there 20 grand for that is a lot of money and most could do better. if the msrp is $33k then it must be fully loaded with every option. better to forgo a few and get a 2500. .

new cars are a very expensive indulgence....even when theyre on closeout. the hit you take when you drive it off the lot is an insane price to pay for new-car smell.. kfrei43@removethis.hotmail.com writes rm v2.0 wrote i read the post about dodges being 13k under sticker and had me wondering. what does the dealer/mfr do with unsold new cars they stay on the sales lot until they do sell. they are called leftovers. i picked up a brand new 1995 leftover chevy in march 1996. it was equipped the same as several of the 1996 models there but it was much cheaper. and from the dealers perspective these are the most expensive vehicles on his lot because hes paying interest on them plus in some states also paying taxes on the unsold inventory. these are the ones you can actually buy below the dealers final cost because he is so extremely anxious to get rid of them. thats not to imply they are necessarily a good value but youll generally never get a chance to buy em any cheaper. ----== posted via pro.com - unlimited-unrestricted-secure usenet ==---- http//www.pro.com the #1 group service in the world! 100000 groups ---= - total privacy via encryption =--- .

if the problem was caused by the gas cap being loose the computer will detect the correction and turn the light off by itself in a short period of time and you need to do nothing for that to happen. you can disconnect the battery to clear the codes if you wish but that also makes the computer forget everything else that it learned and it has to start all over again. the light may not come back on right away but if the problem is more than just a loose cap it will light the mil again. if you have to take it for emissions inspection any time soon doing that will cause you to fail as there are some long term tests that need to be completed and passed by the computer that will be reset and restarted by disconnecting the battery or even just clearing codes. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i pulled this code on my 04 dakota 4.7l quad cab. i think when i gassed her up i didnt properly close the cap. the light is on in my display. if i disconnect the battery for a while the light will turn off and i can re-check the code correct if no code than i should be good to go right or does the computer store the code and i will still get it just want to be sure it will clear if in fact it was my own carelessness and e problem doesnt exist and not flag me to replace a part i dont need too. cecil .

nathan w. collier wrote the p3 can be mounted at any vertical angle unlike the prodigy which must be no more than 60 degrees or so. are you certain i could have sworn it read it msut be horizontally mounted. im certain. the owners manual does not mention any such limitation. i have mine mounted at about an 80 degree angle and it works perfect. the owners manual for my older prodigy does state less than 60 degrees. i think there is confusion in the way the manual is written. i called and tekonsha clarified for me. it must be mounted such that the display is mounted pointing anywhere from 0 degrees towards rear of vehicle to 90 degrees towards roof. it cant point right or left towards the doors and the controller must be mounted so the right/left sides are even meaning one side is not slanted more towards the front or rear of vehicle. not sure if im wording it any better than the manual! .

nathan w. collier wrote thanks. ive ordered one from rvwholesalers.com $129 and expect it this week. the prodigy worked great i can only imagine this will be even better with the notifications/display/etc. rvwholesalers is tough to beat. ive ordered a few things from them. get the cable for it. makes connecting quick and easy if your truck has the factory connector already. .

with the tire pump option any recommendations on routing air line and wiring i cant comment directly on the use of airbags but i can tell you that almost since day 1 ive run an on-board air setup on my truck with a compressor an extremeaire unit mounted with rubber isolators on the transfer case skid plate just behind the t-case itself and a 2-gal. air tank mounted on the drivers side frame rail just ahead of the fuel tank. i use a quick-connect coupler female on the compressor male on the line to connect the supply line from the compressor to the tank with a check valve on the tank inlet. the qc leaks just enough that it acts as a relief valve for the compressor that way the compressors not starting up against a load and since the check valve is there no air leaks from the tank. from the tank i run air lines both forward and backward along the inside of the drivers frame rail zip-tied to the fuel line on the front and brake line towards the back. its tempting to try and route the lines inside the frame rail itself but unless you horizontally elongate a hole somewhere its too sharp of an angle to come out of the rail and still lay flat. as long as the lines are tied up well there should be no problem. for wiring i come off the drivers side battery to a 100a circuit breaker feeding a 100a relay that feeds the compressor. the relay is switched via the ignition circuit and runs through a dash-mounted switch so it can be turned off then through the tank-mounted pressure switch. i got all my parts for this at http//www.4x4connection.com .

the problem is that the slt cannot get every option even in the qc and all 1500 series have a limited selection of power train options even the laramine version of it. for $33k you can get a fully loaded 2500 and with the current price of diesel even the cummins version is around that number. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving tbone wrote lol is this a joke who in their right mind would pay anything more for a 1500 2wd slt qc and even there 20 grand for that is a lot of money and most could do better. if the msrp is $33k then it must be fully loaded with every option. better to forgo a few and get a 2500. .

my 08 squats lower than my 05 dually did with the same camper. i dont know why since the srw and drw share the same springs but it does...just a little but noticable. im looking at a set of firestone ride rites. i had them on my 05 but never needed them on this truck i do. as in cab controllers go is the heavy duty compressor really any better than the standard from firestone anybody here running an in-cab controller is it worth the extra expense how about in-cab controller with the tire pump option any recommendations on routing air line and wiring thanks nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911talk.com http//hipowertalk.com http//glockcarry.com http//p99sw99.com http//ppstalk.com http//p7talk.com .

jla wrote a tight credit market slumping construction an economy on bed rest an end-of-model year and high gas prices mean one thing for pickup trucks lots of brand new trucks waiting for buyers. dealers trying to shift their 2008 dodge rams before the 2009s arrive are taking as much as $13000 off the bill to try and convince buyers to come forth. that means you can get a dodge ram 1500 quad cab slt 4x2 for $19995 instead of $32795. thats about the same as its been for the past several years. i bought my 2004 hemi durango for 13k under msrp. bought my 2001 1500 for 10k under bought my 2007 ctd 4x4 for 9k under probably could have done better. .
