Steering wheel gook

From : steveb toquerville zionvistas

Q: my steering wheel has two years of gook on it now. some of it is from me and my dirty hands. most of it is from my wife and her danged lotion. im driving and she asks honey do you want some lotion too as she slathers herself with lotion. jeez im driving. what do i want with a slippery steering wheel i counter. doesnt seem to sink in as she asks me this any time the lotion out. maybe i should say yes one of these times and direct her to the spot i really want the lotion applied to ........... but i digress ......... doesnt seem to bother her as when shes driving she applies lotion all the time. slippery steering wheels dont faze her. she also drives over curbs and other fixed objects. anyhoo i want to clean it up but dont want to use something so harsh it might take the gray color out or hurt the fine corinthian leather as ricardo montalban used to call the dodge luxury sedan interiors in the early 70s. i got some stuff called cpr for leather that is good for dried out leather. i was thinking of finding something to cut the black grimy stuff then something to restore the leather. or sheeted petroleum distillates suggestions -- ...the man who really counts in the world is the doer not the mere critic-the man who actually does the work even if roughly and imperfectly not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done. theodore roosevelt 1891 .
