brake pedal slowly goes to the floor when constant hard pressure is put on it. i replaced the master cylinder because of this and with the new unit on its still doing it. with the pedal on the floor and the accelerator pressed the truck does not move. is this normal or something to get fixed. im pulling an 11000# fifth-wheel. please help! marsh .

the slant six belhousing will not bolt to a v-8 you would have to get v-8 belhousing /clutch/flywheel to use your existing setup. the 4&5 sp trans setups on the newer pickups use a different trans type & could be adapted if you got one from another 4x4. why not just keep the bent six .

i would keep the leaning tower of power. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. or should i just leave the slant six in it ... lol i traded for a 1984 body converted to 91 diesel 4 spd slant six 4x4 shortbox. will the transmissions bellhousing be swapable to the v8 .. i wanna place a 318 in it but was not sure if the slant 6 setup with 4 spd could be done. i have heard 4spd/5spd trannys have removable bell housings but that was only chev and ford. .

its the belt stretched or worn out not necessarily. my truck has done it with a new belt. our 2000 durnago started making a terrible squealing noise whenever the truck is initially started up and the a/c turned on. if the a/c is turned off the noise goes away after a few moments. if the truck has warmed up a few minutes the noise does not happen at all when a/c is turned on. im 95% sure it has to do with the belt. however would it be belt tension or indication the belt is getting old would it be best to replace the belt now or use belt dressing for a while will this affect the alternator or a/c fuction at all mr. could be the belt tensioner. ive had new ones squeal right out of the box. ken .
