Should I Trade?

Q: jay smith wrote i had my 02 dakota in today for its 30000 mile transmission service. the dealer used atf+3 in it. the owners manual recommends atf+4 in the 45rfe trans. that is in my truck. when i questioned the service writer i was told that dodge now recommends atf+3. i have already e-mailed dodge and will hear back from then by wed. my main concern is that my 7yr/100mi. warranty is now shot. the 7/100 is the only reason a 02 dodge is in the driveway and not a 02 chey. has anyone heard of this change of mind from dodge the dealer is wrong. it should have atf+4 in it. atf+3 wont hurt it but your warranty requires the synthetic atf+4. there have been tsbs issued on the subject but your dealer has it backwards. .

on sun 24 oct 2004 010300 gmt greg surratt glsurratt@verizon.net wrote i got a letter today from one of the local dealers saying they are willing to pay the original msrp* manufacturers suggested retail base price for your vehicle bold in many cases unbold. *deductions will be made for equipment failure body damage reconditioning costs mileage $0.35/mile. first off i wonder what the difference is between msrp which i thought was manufacturers suggested retail price and the manufacturers suggested retail base price somehow im thinking base price is the vehicle with no options so id lose the $4000 credit for the diesel and secondly at 50000 miles are they going to dock me 35 cents a mile for a total of $17500 right off the top last time i checked book was about $14k. base price of $27k - $17.5k leaves $9.5k. hell of a deal dontcha think im starting to remember why i dont like shopping for vehicles. greg at $.35 a mile id lose $51800 right off the top! beekeep .
