Serpentine belt routing

Q: upon taking a closer look at the serpentine belt routing on my dakota that i bought as used vehicle i discovered that the routing did not match the diagram on the under hood decal. i changed it to match the decal but cannot discern that it made any difference at all. oldtimer .
