on apr 24 530 am bigironram n...@home.com wrote ok my dodge ram leaks about a full radiator full of water in about 200 miles. i dont drive the truck much but anyways. the leak is from the rear of the motor. with the engine running and me on the ground drivers side i see it coming from the very rear up high about the middle of the motor valve cover area. any place in general i should be looking i know these things are prone to freeze plug leaks in the bell shousing but if i see the water there i know its not a freeze plug. intake manifold coolant cooled starting in 1985 dodge small blocks got water cooled intake manifolds to fight the infamous exhaust crossover blockage. im surprised a guy with little knowledge of dodge engines knows about that. my 93 360 ramcharger developed a similar leak that turned out to be a leaking head gasket. i really dont know a lot about dodges in general hell i have never stripped a piston engine. i have done a ton of rotaries but no piston motors. although im well versed around the outside of motors tho. anyways and ideas anyone have something similar to share yeah im gonna have to dig in to it here soon. i need a truck and not one thats costing me a fortune in collant. .

steve though i am not sure if it would fit your needs but these might be something worth looking into. i saw one this morning on the way into work being towed by a 6 banger nissan pathfinder with no issues. www.trailmanor.com the pathfinder has been retired to the utah house for grocery runs. the motor is weak weak weak. when we towed with it we had a burro trailer. this is a version of the scamp and casita trailers that u-haul had made for their rental fleet. they were fiberglass and weighed in at 2500#. they looked like an egg. they had a fridge stove 13500 btu ac solar panel water system lots of goodies on a small trailer. a friend of ours got it from u haul when he worked there. he wanted to get rid of it and sold it to us for $200. we used it for a year and found they were collectors items by trailer enthusiasts. we sold it on ebay for $4300. right now im looking for a toy hauler in the 26 range that will carry two atvs and max out at around 9000# unladen. there are lots of them on the market so ill do some investigation with rv.org and going and looking at them before selecting. steve .
