Q: i read a post where someone talked about resetting the computer after changing to a k&n air filter. two questions... 1. how would one do such a thing 2. why would one want to do it thanks in advance copper .

i read a post where someone talked about resetting the computer after changing to a k&n air filter. two questions... 1. how would one do such a thing disconnect the battery for a few minutes. 2. why would one want to do it the computer learns how you drive and how the engine runs and adjusts its fuel and timing curves to suit. the idea is that if you reset the computer after making these changes it will need to re-learn and will more quickly notice the easier breathing filter and adjust its curves to give you more power. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
