Replacing 93 Dodge Dakota Overdrive Solenoid
From : clinton bast
Q: i took my 1993 dodge dakota to a dealer and they said my overdrive solenoid needs to be replaced. they said a new solenoid would cost $250 and it would be 2 hours labor @ $68/hour. since im cheap and eager to learn i was curious how difficult it is to do myself. i have a chrysler service manual for the truck. the only place i saw discussion about the solenoid was in the transmission overhaul section. it appeared you needed some special tools to work on the transmission. i get the impression this is a job out of my league. - clint .
