Rear unsupported??? Mounting a DIN radio in a Dodge RAM

From : ignoramus26983

Q: yes it is very foolish to not use a seatbelt... but... look where your logic leads... riding a motorcycle even with proper equipment including helmet is statistically much more dangerous than driving in a car... many would even call the choice to ride a motorcycle foolish because of that increased risk. should motorcyclists be barred from receiving emergency medical care because of their standards for safety are not the same as others who prefer to drive a minivan with 6 airbags bone wrote i dont agree with the seat belt laws either. they should be changed to if you do not wear your seatbelt in a vehicle equipped with them and dont have a medical excuse for not wearing it then you are completely responsible for any injuries regardless of whos fault it is or iow no insurance company has to pay a dime to you. then it is completely your decision and responsibility for your safety as it should be. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving tbone i wouldnt mind cosigning that but most of these people cant afford the cost of an ambulance hospitalization doctors rehab etc... not saying everyone needs all this. then they need to take the responsibility to wear the seatbelt so that the insurance will help cover it. so the cost of that goes back on the rest of the paying users of the system in higher costs. lol that problem already exists. when assholes like ken get seriously hurt in an accident because they are too stupid to use the seatbelt who do you think pays for it now you do and so do i in higher insurance rates. that hits me square in the wallet. i dont want to pay for kens medical needs brought on by his stupidity. neither do i and this is exactly why i want the law changed to what i said. then if he continues to act like an idiot not wear the seatbelt and gets seriously injured in an accident i am not paying for expensive reconstructive surgery and for the idiots pain and suffering. .

maybe i will simply glue a couple of pieces of wood to the bottom of the radio. be careful. some radios can get quite hot and interrupting the heat dissipation can be harmful. .

im considering putting in an extra 60-70 gallons of capacity in my 98 2500 diesel. commuting to work alone puts 4-500 miles a week. i avg 18-19 mpg normally but getting off the pedal gives me up to almost 20. in less than a year ive picked up 50 gallons of bad fuel. more picky where i get it now. whats the best way to install an extra 1-2 tanks .

i am going to mount a normal din radio in a 1999 dodge ram 1500. i bought a scosche installation kit from walmart. it appears that it has a front mounting bracket but absolutely nothing to support the rear. because the opening for the radio is larger than the radio it seems that the rear of the radio will be unsupported. is that true and if so how can i make the radio mounted in a more stable fashion. i just bought a new blaupunkt cd receiver for my 95 ram 1500. i bought it through crutchfield who supplies all the necessary stuff to make it fit including a factory-sized wire harness plugs. the receiver itself came with a simple piece of metal strapping to support the rear which the manual says is important. a simple metal strap attached from the back of your radio it should have a threaded hole in the back for attachment to something solid in the dash above should work fine.... take it easy bob scott -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

i am preparing my asbestos long-johns for this one....... the only changes you will notice is that your wallet is now lighter and you are letting more dirt into your engine now. did you alter your exhaust flow timing fuel delivery and computer chip for this greater air-flow to the engine i didnt think so. maybe a tornado or those gas-line magnets would help. heck just jack up the rear end so you are always going downhill. that will save a ton on gas. just my .02 -dje jon wrote just put a k & n air filter in my 5.9l 2002 ram. any ideas if i will see an improvement in gas mileage or other places its amazing to me the truck gets any air at all the way the intake box is setup. thanks for the info. jon .

hysterical i feel the same way about all of this k&n crap. your letting micron size contaminants into your engine which end up in your oil. going to be interesting what the studies reveal in about 5 years. i had had fipk and seemed to be changing my oil more often. i change it when its dirty regardless of mileage or months. i buy it by the case. i went back to my origianl air box with wix filters. save your money. steve i am preparing my asbestos long-johns for this one....... the only changes you will notice is that your wallet is now lighter and you are letting more dirt into your engine now. did you alter your exhaust flow timing fuel delivery and computer chip for this greater air-flow to the engine i didnt think so. maybe a tornado or those gas-line magnets would help. heck just jack up the rear end so you are always going downhill. that will save a ton on gas. just my .02 -dje jon wrote just put a k & n air filter in my 5.9l 2002 ram. any ideas if i will see an improvement in gas mileage or other places its amazing to me the truck gets any air at all the way the intake box is setup. thanks for the info. jon .

most everyone ive seen is but i really dont make a habit of looking unders peoples dashes at their radios although i did have a 1956 plymouth that someone put an aftermarket radio in and it wasnt supported in back. an excellent point. so you too think that the rear of the radio needs to be supported right ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

is there a way to pull the switch out to see if its the tumbular or have to replace the whole thing probably be better to have someone check the circuits for current rather than trying to see the inside of the switch ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

91 caravan 3.3 i have a leak in the fuel rail cross over o-rings. dealer says i must buy new rail. $275 yup. . can i just replace the o-rings not supposed to since they are not your average o-ring...but its your van...you do what you want. if so how do i get the rail apart since every time i have seen that issue no ones been dumb enough to try it and reuse it....so thats up to you. its kind of like using regular vac line on a fi fuel rail....it might work for a while but its going to go.. you will find that the dealer is the only place to get things like an egr that is correct for that engine...and thats called life. .

i just remembered. the switch goes all the way to start but i cant feel the last resistant for the starter to kick in.. like the switch wont go that far it stops at the full forward position. dave is there a way to pull the switch out to see if its the tumbular or have to replace the whole thing probably be better to have someone check the circuits for current rather than trying to see the inside of the switch ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .
