Rear turn signal problems drivin' me crazy!!
From : frank taylor jr
Q: i have a 2000 dodge durango and recently my rear left turn signal stopped working. like most people i figured it was a blown bulb and replaced it. well after that it worked for about 5 minutes and stopped again. turns out that the bulb is just fine. as a matter of fact the original one was not blown either. i then figured that maybe the contacts were dirty so i cleaned them. again the rear turn signal worked for about 5 minutes and then stopped again. i then tried taking out the bulb assembly and swapping it with the bulb assembly on the right rear signal thinking that if it were the assembly then the right side would stop working and the left side would work. when i did that neither side worked!!!!! as soon as i swapped them back the right side worked again and the left side did not. now the left rear brake light does not work either. the weird part is that sometimes it the turn signal will start working again for no apparent reason and then stop again. the whole time the front parking and turn signal lights have always worked and the tail lights both left and right have always worked just fine. i am goin nuts just trying to figure out what is causing this. has anyone had this happen before and if so how did you fix it frank .

thats good information to have kevin. thanks. how much should i expect to pay for a module frank i dought that it is a bad ground i have had this problem with my 02 dakota and evey time it turns out to be the flasher module. the flasher module on the durangos and dakotas id a multifunction pice of crap everything flows through this thing taillight signal lights brake lights. on my dakota it is located up on the firewall behind the brake pedal it my be just a loose connection at the module but i suspect you will have to replace it. i have had minbe replaced 3 times now. kevin i am goin nuts just trying to figure out what is causing this. has anyone had this happen before and if so how did you fix it bad ground at the taillight. follow the wires in the harness back until you find where the ground terminates probably a ring terminal screwed into the frame... check that connection remove it clean it wire brush and re-install. .
