Rain Repel - For Extreme Weather

From : simms bike werks

Q: i have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 with a glass pack muffler. it is a single pipe in and dual pipe out glass pack muffler. i love the sound of it. the only problem is that when i am going down the road about 55 mph or above the rumble from the exhaust hurts your ears inside the truck. it seems like anytime the rpms are above 1500 the exhaust gets really loud. my question is if anyone knows another muffler will give me the same loud deep sound the glass pack muffler gives me without the loud rumble at high speed would a turbo muffler or masterflow work .

tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net says... does anyone have knowledge of the current reliability of the transmissions being built today. problems were had with the early 46re and 47re models due to a combination of inadequate lube flowing to the od unit especially at lower rpms and lack of maintenance. the truck youre now looking at uses a completely-redesigned transmission the 545rfe. this transmission has been produced for several years now and very few problems there will always be some - its inevitable have been reported. i agree with the above i have one and know several people that have 2003s to 2006 rams and none have had any trans problems. cant say the same for my neighbors 2 2005 f150s that puked out on two trucks the second was a lemon law replacement 3 times with no warning except for the last time when reverse took several minutes to engage and it totally blew the next morning when he attempted to drive it to the dealer. he said goodbye ford and has a cummins 2500 ram on order... my one friend had a windstar that ate an amazing number of trannys in 36k. it was a lease and was he glad to see it go away.. bdk .

lol sorry tom but you get what you give. he said his heater was blowing warm air out of the ac vents. the word heater should have tipped you off no esp required here. now you get an idea what it feels like to be hit with petty bs for a change. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving he gave the problem tom and it is fairly straight forward. when set to heat the warm air is now coming out of the ac vents instead of the floor. not exactly difficult to figure this out. well then i bow to your powers of esp - because in his original post it wasnt clear at all that he was in fact selecting heat turning the blower on and selecting floor vents. once you get those additional pieces of apparently irrelevant information its fairly obvious that its a vacuum-related problem. you know what im thinking now so i wont bother typing it out... .

i have replaced both the rear differential speed sensor and the magnetized on the tailshft of the transmission and am still having problems with the speedometer and odometer not working at all. has hesitation and backfire when running under pressure at higher rates of speed. any suggestions would be welcome!!!! well... we know youre driving a 98+ ram or 97+ dakota... but not much else. since most of us try and only use our powers of mental telepathy only in cases of national emergency it would save us all a lot of paperwork and nosebleeds if you would describe your vehicle. .

bottom...but what do you mean when you say gotta hold the stem while you tighten the nut the top mount is a stud mount - meaning the shock rod turns into a threaded stud. theres a couple of flat spots on the very tip of the stud. if you dont hold the stud from turning you wont be tightening the nut - youll be spinning the entire rod. this wont hurt the shock but it wont get the nut any tighter either. this will make more sense when you look at it. this is new to me. when i do go to tighten them do i need to be careful as to not to over tighten them rule of thumb on this is to tighten until the bushings squeeze out even with the washers. .

how do you get the tilt steering knob off a 05 ram. i got a mopar remote start and need to take the column covers off. maybe when i pull the top cover it will come off from the inside but any help would be great. yes - the bottom cover is held on with a couple of torx screws from underneath. youll be able to remove both top and bottom halves without messing with the tilt lever. for this kind of work and also for the wiring youll need to do you should get the factory service manual. go to this web page http//www.hemitruckclub.com and click the link on the left to download it. .

From : budd cochran

i agree 100%. although i got lazy and started to use the rain-x windshield wiper fluid and dont have to do the application any longer. only downside is rain will not bead up quite the same as the direct application. when im not lazy i actually do both as the wiper fluid helps maintain the direct application longer. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works ice angels on fri 06 jan 2006 215832 -0500 the nolalu barn owl wrote on fri 6 jan 2006 132146 -0600 simms bike werks jon@simmsbikewerks.com wrote very easy to use unlike our competitors your windows do not have to be clean and dry to apply. simply put 1oz of the super concentrated rain repel in the windshield washer reservoir and fill with your favorite windshield wash that it! water just beads up and blows off as you drive. repels rain sleet and snow safe for use on glass plastic plexiglass and lexon http//www.s =snipped url cant see through the beads of water. thats why i use wipers. there is a sucker born every minute. although it very well may be that a sucker is born every minute i say the rain-x is a great chemical to use. much easier to see under downpour conditions less wear on the wipers and visibility is greatly increased in rain and snow conditions. oh yea and you can buy it in gallon jugs of premixed solution to put directly into your washer reservoir. the downside is at night in inclement weather under street lamps. when the light beam is 90 to the windshield you may experience a glare caused by the single beads of water/snow. ...ron -- 68rs camaro 88formula 00gt mustang .

use some of that stuff called oops to remove the glue residue. there is plastic tool used for removing stickers it has a small plastic blade on it my wife gets them at wal-mart. use your finger nail to get it started and as you are picking at it use a hair dryer to keep it warm and soft.. in about 1 1/2 hours you will be done. coasty i want to paint a graphic on the tailgate and the logo is in the way. i will remove it if only adhesive is used but do not want to patch & fill a pre-drilled hole. tia .

ive used rain-x for years and i think the stuff is great. put it on when the temps are above approx 60 degrees walk away from it for at least a couple of hours and then wipe it off with a micro fibre towel. i dont notice the glare the other poster is talking about and its much easier to see thru when its raining. denny yup agree wabbit! rain-x is the best thing since heated leather seats! mike mike use the low heat setting for awhile your brain is getting overheated.... bg denny .

so why bother with sticking a paper on the back window just fellow them to their car. when they unlock the doors then mug them. just be careful your victim could be armed and dangerous dale williamboyd@cableone.net wrote subject new formm of car jacking - not a joke please keep this circulating... you walk acros s tht e parking lot unlock your car and get inside. then you start the engine and shift into reverse and you look into the rear view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. so you shift into park unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper or whatever it is that is obstructing your view. when you reach the back of your car that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere jump into your car and take off! your engine was running and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. and guess what ladies i bet your purse is still in the car... be aware of this new scheme that is now being used.just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later and be s that you read this email.. i hope you will forward this to friends and family... especially to women! a purse contains all of your identification and you certainly do not want someone getting your home address. they already have your keys! .
