Rack limitting clips on 2000 dakota?

From : iamgoode

Q: i have a 03 1500 with the 4.7 engine and 7500 miles mostly on the highway. i have averaged 15.13 so far with my best as 17.71. i drive 79 most of the time and am an average driver i guess. i have found that wind makes a big difference. with that massive front end there is quite a bit of wind resistance. i drive back and forth between fort lauderdale and fort pierce about 100 miles and watch the mpg indicater on the overhead display. one trip i got 21.1 going north and 15.4 coming back south. the indicator is always about one mile higher than actual mileage. the higher it indicates the more the discrepancy. the mileage is about what i expected but would like to get better. don d. we took a 1500 mile trip back in june. the average for the trip was 15.9 mpg. it had 3000 miles on it then. 7500 now and gets about the same. my wife drives it most of the time. with her lead foot around town 12.9 mpg is average. sch 2003 dodge 1500 slt quadcab 4x4 4.7l on tue 15 jul 2003 215410 -0400 jonathan kaplan insure10nospam@nospamyahoo.com wrote today i did it! 18.85 mpg. ram 1500 2wd with 4.7l 5 speed auto. 65 mph avg and tonneau cover. it almost made the epa rating of 19. the truck is a 2003 with 4700 miles. whats everyones record .

tbone wrote you did say that you went back on your word like the classless lying worm that you are. careful now everyone read what i said i said i did a typical liberal stunt and went back on my word. call it whatever you want you still did it and it still makes you a classless lying puppet boy. it was just far to easy to get you to do it lol. i never said that i didnt or that it bothered me that was another assumption of yours. and a correct one at that only in that tiny little dysfunctional mind of yours. but i dont claim to be the man of character that you do of course not you would be lying. as you are and have so clearly demonstrated. no i believe that would be you puppet boy. you really think you have something going dont you ......... damn youre dumb. did you not go back on your word and now resorting to childish attacks lol so much for character. well just off the top bullshit spin snipped due to boredom. stay tuned for more spin form little tbone. iow you dont have what it takes to actually stand up for what you believe imagine that. it seems that all you have done is prove the idiot in this thread is yourself. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

i had the same problem on my 96 4x4 actually replaced the hub/bearing assy 2 times on one side and 3 on the other. go to your local parts store ask for the hub and bearing assembly you will have to remove the wheel remove the caliper has three allen head bolts holding it on i believe slide off the rotor take off the castle nut in the center with a cotter pin through it and pull out the entire hub/bearing assembly which is attached to the universal joint and short drive shaft. you will need to have the universal joint bearings popped out and replaced which requires a press. your parts store will have the universal joint bearings. then just slide it back in carefully so you dont destroy the axles oil seal and assemble everything in reverse order. i had problems getting my castle nuts off because the heat from the bearings going out had locked it up and i had to cut it off and replace it. i may have forgotten a step or detail in my description it has been awhile since i did this. enjoying my 03 hemi now -brian friends i have a 1996 ram 1500 pu 4x4 v8 5.9l. for a couple of months there has been a slight groan from the front end if she would coast backwards; this may or not be related. yesterday when i turned into my driveway there was a loud snapping and groaning noise from the drivers side front wheel. i stopped and turned the wheel back and forth but there was no more noise. i took it around the block and the snapping and groaning noise started again and was so loud and bad i wasnt sure id get her home. i jacked the front end up and shook the tire. it has a lot of wobble in it that i know it didnt have when i rotated the tires a couple months ago. i spun the tire around a few times and there is a rattling and loud rubbing noise as it turns. is this the bearing could it be something else how hard are they to change i do have a chrysler service manual so does this bearing have a specific or unique name as there are about 20 entries for bearings all in different sections of the book. thanks for your time steve .
