Q: have an 84 dodge ram 150 p/u... current project truck. have something drawing current off the battery with truck sitting still no keys in the ignition nothing lights etc. on. current assumptions of course include short in wiring somewhere. have visually checked for cut/broken/shorted wiring... to no avail. looking for advice on best way to search for this source of the problem... help lol! thanks!!! yes the suggestions that have been posted are excellent places to start. i just had to rip apart all the wiring harnesses and backtrace all the wiring in a 89 ram. i fixed everything but now it is doing something weird with the headlights on once in a while the high beam indicator light will act opposite to truth indicating high beams on when on low off on high beams. the turn signal indicators came on steady. i think it could be the steering multiswitch any suggestions the reason why i post this here is maybe we can help eachother stumble through this bizarre and scary world of electrical obscurities. p.s. is there any aftermarket stuff installed or previously installed on the vehicle trailer wiring harness brake controller fog lights etc.. .
