Question Re Electric Fan Gen 2 Cummins

Q: wrote tbone wrote complete bs. if the response both prior and immediately after the storm was handled better there would be far fewer victims to begin with. we agree here. but thats not what this discussion is about. its about where best to spend politicians time and taxpayers money now. it most certainly is or at lest was until the paranoid right wing like yourself came jumping in crying that it was somehow an attack against bush and the republicans. i also agree that we need to properly spend the politicians time and taxpayer dollars but the politicians time is not completely taken up by the recovery anymore if it ever was and a lot of taxpayer money would have been saved had this situation been handled better and will also be wasted should this same poor response happen again. as for my interest yet more bs from you. there is no reason why both cannot be done especially since the ones doing the helping would have little to do with the investigation and vise versa. politicians are the ones directing the help. oh bullshit. lets see a list of names

using a borrowed scan tool the past couple weeks. rolling down the road i picked up some random codes out on the freeway today p0300 and p0306 but they cleared themselves within 510 minutes and did not store nor turn on the mil. checked after i got off the road and she reads pass. dunno what to make of the random stuff showing up now. i think i may go ahead and throw another set of plugs at it this weekend. its only supposed to be 95 out.. god how i love houston. p0307 is gone. hopefully it stays away. hey speaking of houston local channel 2 nbc had a story on tonight about several fema debit cards showing up at some of houstons titty bars. both babydolls and caligula bartenders confirm. lauwdaamercy weez is rich! abe sez weez is free! we dont ever hafta work no mo!! full story and video clip here http//www.click2houston.com//4979639/detail.html .

fred wrote hi group! i have a 1999 2wd ctd and using it as a tractor for my 28 foot 8000lb 5th wheel. getting tired of turning on the heater fan in heavy traffic or when backing up the unit to keep the transmission coolant temperature down around 200f. does anyone in the group know of any auxillliary electric fan mods for these trucks tia fred horton makes an electric fan/clutch that works great. it also has a manual switch to turn it on when needed. its very pricy and takes a few hours to install but does a great job i am told. do a google search on horton fan and you will find everything you need to know about the fan. ron if it aint broke fix it until it is the horton for dodge is long out of production. as far as i know they didnt even bother doing one for the 24 valve engine. i sold the one i had on my 96 rather than try to make it work on my 01 didnt think it was worth it on the old truck either. several people on the tdr have complained about them being discontinued the story theyre getting is the material for the fan itself is no longer available. i find that hard to believe. i think its got more to do with insufficient sales. if you want to pursue it with horton the site is http//www.hortoninc.com/indexen.asp you might want to see if you can find one of the transmission cooler / fans from a first generation truck and adapt that to your truck. shamelessly stolen text follows but dodge brought out a heavy duty under-bed-mounted transmission oil cooler in mid 91 to take care of converter heating in the trucks with cummins engines. they gave me one for my 91 so i got another and hooked them in series and also an external filter. the fans came on by temperature i installed a manual switch also. it sounded like a b-29 when the fans were running. i could actually watch the fluid temperature come down when the fans came on during a hard pull. .

big al wrote truck has just had batteries replaced and cable connectors replaced. problem still persists that after glow plug light goes out i engage the starter and the voltage drops to @8 volts and a clicking sound is heard. i can continue to try to start it and it will start after a few times. it started a while back but has gotten progressively worse. pep boys checked the electricals twice and said everything is fine including the starter. what are they missing check the voltage at both batteries while cranking. put the meter probes right on the battery posts not on the pinch terminals. see if they both read the same. report back. al another thing i would do at this stage is to get or borrow a clamp on current meter to see how much power is going were during glow plug preheat and cranking. also and this one is a must do put a voltmeter between each postive battery terminal when cranking and record reading and then between the starter and each postive battery terminal and record those reading to. this will tell us how much voltage drop or current loss there may be and also if batteries are both carrng the load. do this and let me see your numbers. -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-95-ram-2500-ftopict138201.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=669812 .

i change my own every 20k at a cost of about $26. you dont change all of your atf+4 for $26 unless you get one heck of a good deal on it. actually pretty close as i have a drain plug on my torque converter always tighten these securely... a lesson i learned the hard way one time. and i never said i used +4... no need to piss away $$$ when changing every 20k. .
