you need to check the harness in the drivers side door and the drivers side door switch. either the switch has failed or the harness may have failed where it enters the door. also check the connector at the switch. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving 97 ram cc 60k miles today my power windows decided they do not want to work anymore both passenger side and drivers side neither up nor down. doesnt matter whether you use the passenger door button or the dual drivers side door button. nada.. ive checked the obvious 30a fuse and it is good. ideas welcomed. .

took me a non-mechanic total about 2 hours to find fix and put it all back together. wonder what mr. dodgewrench would have charged me... or better yet wonder how badly sears or firestone/goodyear shops would have soaked me any guesses/estimates we do not yet have numbers that high. .

t-bonenospam@nc.rr.com writes you need to check the harness in the drivers side door and the drivers side door switch. been there and done that... was one of the first things checked after the fuse. just forgot to mention. sorry. either the switch has failed or the harness may have failed where it enters the door. also check the connector at the switch. nope. the problem was found to be the main ignition power harness alongside the steering column where it plugs into the side of the switch. on the r side of the steering column column plastic removed - t20 torx screws there is a plug-ended harness with about 7 or 8 wires in it. the #3 wire from the top 12 awg black w/orange strip had broken off right at the connector body. repair was as simple as flowing some solder onto the connector flowing some more solder onto the tip end of the broken wireand then holding them together while applying some heat from the soldering iron to flow the joing back together. i used a couple miniature ty-wraps to provide strain relief so hopefully it wont happen again. took me a non-mechanic total about 2 hours to find fix and put it all back together. wonder what mr. dodgewrench would have charged me... or better yet wonder how badly sears or firestone/goodyear shops would have soaked me any guesses/estimates .
