Q: on sun 01 may 2005 114808 gmt moparman scott.hendryx.clothes@sbcglobal.net wrote i just bought a used 03 dak with a 4.7 and automatic. what kind of scanner should i get to keep track of what is going on where is a good place to buy performance parts to maybe get a little more hp out of it. i would like to make it run like my 96 5.2 if i can. my first stop will be the muffler shop to improve the exhaust what do you guys suggest next. tia tom i would buy the biggest k&n filter i could get. should increase your hp by about 60%. spray the truck with silicon itll make less drag decreasing wind resistance and allow for better speed performance even in the rain. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- dont forget the propeller in the trailer ball hitch reciever. beekeep i got one for fathers day last year....my family sucks... -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

i dont blame you. when i bought my ram i had to order it to get the 5 speed and then had to wait for months to get it but it was worth it!!! -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i am probably the only one who remembers since it was my question. it is scary that it never goes away. still want a damn stick though! damn it is scary how long this stuff stays around. the problem is that it really doesnt answer the question. in this case the op was this you wanted to convert a 1500 auto to a standard and use parts from a 2500 to do it. i was explaining that while converting from an automatic to a standard shift is difficult enough as it is the fact that the vehicle was a 4x4 and the op wanted to use parts from a different series of truck was going to make it even more difficult not that is was any more difficult converting a 1500 compared to a 2500 / 3500. actually the conversion of a 2500 / 3500 may be a little more difficult because the damn parts are heavier. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving tbone a quote from you regarding this issue. .

iirc the manual for my ram said that you need to use a breakout box and jumper a few pins to communicate with the antilock brake controller. i know that was the case with the 94-97s... i dont know if it carried over to the newer abs systems. in fact now that i think about it a buddys 98 1500 with 4w abs had a problem... he took it to several places and they all told him the same thing dealer only - nothing we can do. we did what we could troubleshooting the wheel sensors all checked out good the brake switch bled out what we could etc. never could determine the problem - so he sold it .

has anyone out there seen and or checked their front door seals nearest the rear view mirrors on my new 2004 quad cab the seals interfere with the door and have already broken. ok the dealer replaced them with new ones and the interference remains so they also will break in a few weeks. dodge sure did some lousy engineering on those seals maybe someone needs to start a class action suite to get some redesigned seals on those doors. emil there is a tsb out on this. http//dodgeram.info/tsb/2004/23-008-04.htm the same thing happened to my 2004 1500 qc. i put a strip of black electical tape over the spots on the seals that were starting to wear. its a temporary fix to keep the damage from getting any worse and to buy me some time until i get off my lazy a$$ and get it to the dealer to have the seals replaced. mike .

he suggested i go to napa and pick up a grease gun hose for the connection between the banjo bolt and the isolator. you could do that - its just a rubber hose with 1/8-npt fittings on each end. if you look at the picture of my isolator i just used a brass 1/8npt to 1/8 compression fitting on each end pump side and isolator and ran a length of 1/8 plastic tubing should have come with the gauge. this way youre not limited to the length of the grease gun hose. you know i was going to use the excess that came with the gauge but although it said it could be used with oil to not use it for fuel. the geno guy said the same but the hos fuel is more like a light oil than a gasoline. i just want it to work forever and never leave me stranded sounds like my wife. -- fmb only one b in fmb .

napa the good ones at 50 some odd dollars a piece seem to be just fine. made by monroe suddenly without warning joseph myers exclaimed 5/2/2005 435 am bilstien or edelbrock mono tube double acting. i put the edelbrock ias on my 3500 and they work great even with 4300# of camper in the bed. i put the bilstiens on my toy taco and they are much better then the oems.. on mon 02 may 2005 010424 gmt edward l. dowdy eddowdy@ctsihatespamcomp.com wrote i have a 95 ram 1500 2 wheel drive with 95000 miles. it has a towing package but i dont recall the axle ratio. engine is a 318. ive only had it a couple months. gets better gas mileage than the 2002 qc 4x4 i used to have. seems it could ride a bit better than it does. would new shocks help if so what would the resident experts recommend ed dowdy ok how about for a 2001 dakota slt 4x4 with towing package also not sure of the axle ratio does it matter. same brands whats the usual life of oem shocks on a truck like mine its my first dodge and first 4x4. jmc .

i need to replace the exhaust cat on back on my 95 ram 1500 with a 318. someone just offered me a one year old 3 stainless system off a 98 1500 with a 318. it is the y pipe to the tail pipe. they didnt have headers just the stock manifolds. does any one know if this will bolt up fine i think the 95 had a smaller exhaust than the 98 and the 3 is over sized as it is. the 98 is using the stock y pipe. if the y pipe on back or even the cat back from the 98 wont fit on my 95 will the exhaust manifolds from the 98 fit on it so that the 98 system will work he has a new set that i can have with the system. ryan .

on mon 02 may 2005 125652 -0400 kurt mrwizard@comcast.net wrote yup! this is going to be ugly! but i am not selling my truck that i just got 2 months ago so i can buy a hd version. ill just have to kill what i got & use the 7 1/2 foot plow. thanks for the input & the fisher plow link. kurt btw i plowed my own driveway gravel 650 for three years with a 97 ram 1500 manual trans and a fisher 7 1/2 regular duty plow. fisher guidelines said that i could only mount the light duty plow but the composite cutting edge and lack of shoes would not do well on the gravel. the reg duty plow maxed out the front gawr so i did not drive on the road with it except to get home from the dealer the 1st time. in three years i went through 3 sets of front axel u-joints 4 front stabilizers both tie rod ends and both front axel seals. i have upgraded to a 2500 both for plowing my driveway and for manual trans towing capacity. i just dont like an auto trans. so if you plow with a 1500 expect the front end to take a beating. woody; 95fxds .

that is not the point although with your replies i can see that you just dont get it. if your truck is so loud that you cannot talk to someone else with it running what a pos then your neighbors must really love you when you crank up that shitbox in the morning but then again i suspect that you really dont give a crap. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving if i want to stop my truck and get out to have a conversation which apparently you guys do every day maybe you should explain your line of work where thats needed ill shut it off. tbone wrote unless you live in the middle on nowhere it should be. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving jonathan race wrote i can open the hood of my 04 duramax at idle and have a conversation in a normal tone of voice while standing next to it. my friends cummins powered dodge requires you to nearly scream at each other in order to be heard with the hood open. being able to have a conversation while standing next to an open hood while the engine is running isnt on my list of requirements for a diesel or any other type of engine for that matter. .
