Problems with Ramcharger 318 .........loss of power .....oil turns black

Q: my ramchargers 318 engine is starting to have problems this 318 is turning the oil black after two days of changing it .....has sever power loss and has dark exhaust when i rev it up ..............also the smell of gas is in the air ive changed the oil twice ...first time with 10/40 second time with 20/50 both oils turned black now right after the last oil change this 318 ran like a champ until 2 days later i ran it down the road 20 milesand it started to run horrible and the oil turned black my first thought was that im losing compression and oil is getting past the rings ....turning the oil black my second thought is that my 318 heads are going bad causing the black oil and loss of power but i dont know enough about heads to make such a assumption i do have a 360 engine just sitting around that i was saving for my 84 dodge pick up so a engine swap is possible my first question is why is my 318 turning the oil black with loss of power second question is i have electronic fuel injection on my 318 stock will the efi system work on a older 360 and what will i need to look out for in this engine swap. thanks dominyon .
