Q: in the event the fuel cap comes loose what effect does this have on the engine. there is a little note that near the cap that it will turn on the engine service light. i was on my way down town and was going to refuel any way. still had about a eighth of a tank. the engine started to acting like it had fuel starvation i hurried in to the station added the additive and filled it up. but i thought the fuel cap was loose when i took it off almost certain it was. after refueling i had no further problems with the engine. i did not notice the engine service light coming on. -- bill p. just me and dog .
