Plow dolly??

From : roy

Q: roy take a look at the following link. http//search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgicategory=accessorieslights04 x&cartid=a-8491&keywords1=&keywords=4asale&go if word wrap doesnt let you get to the site then go to www.rcpw.com and look for the category on the left-hand side. i just happened to find them while searching. hope this helps. peter. i saw these on a site a few years ago. dont remember where though. you drop the plow down on these and you can push it wherever you want. if i cant find them i suppose the ones for a car or truck can be made to work. roy .

first... shut up roy..i already know im ugly and the wife dresses me funny.. bg second lets say youre the proud owner of a 05 whatever with less than 1000 miles on it. you notice the left front parking light doesnt work and take it in to get fixed. lo and behold you are told its not just a bad bulb but the socket itself is defective and the only way to get it is to get a complete harness from the inst cluster thru the firewall and to the front lights. now the question is would you want even the most qualified tech to take most of your dash out and run a new harness everywhere under the hood or would you rather the dealer go to a boneyard and snip a connector off a donor vehicle and sodder/heatshrink it into place its only three wires and very easy to get to behind the headlamp assy. one hour vs at least a full day to replace the harness. no cost to you either way. what do you guys think denny i never said you were ugly! just that you were a tad chubby. as for how you dress i think pink fits ya to a t bfg new socket spliced and shrunk. roy .

jlrice1655@earthlink.net writes why not have the dealer just get the new harness and cut the connector from that. same cost to him either way and you have a new connector and not a used one that may give you trouble down the line. just a thought. id vote this way myself even on something straight off the showroom floor. my only concern would be in making positively sure the splice point is done right and water-tight. moisture + voltage + copper wire = corrosion which eventually leads to a broken wire and circuit failure. good tight thomas & betts tool dimple crimp + solder + pic-lined heatshrink tubing. should outlast the truck. .
