im changing from an 8 rim to a 10 rim also changing from 31 tires to 33 tires i have installed a 2 leveling kit for the front and thought the hard part was over wrong im having trouble finding a tire company able to help me make this change. i now believe that i have to do this on my own. im having trouble understanding the offset on 10 rims all the ones i like are +25mm/4.5 i think that is too much. i want the inside of my new tire to be at the same place that my stock tire is and have the additional part of the tire/rim going out. does anyone know for sure what kind of offset this would be or a person/company that has experience in this area my truck is in exceptional shape and never goes offroad. dull rims will not due. i would appreciate any help. .

yes the infinity amp is very heavily eqd to compensate for the lousy frequency response of the speakers. theres tons of low end around 50-60hz and the high end is definitely lacking. the whole thing cant be pushed too hard or the speakers start flapping and farting. until you run your head unit directly to the speakers hopefully new components bypassing the factory stuff youll be locked into the substandard sound of the oem infinity amp/speakers. best of luck with whatever you decide to do. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 mustang 5.0 lx hatch with a few goodies michael greenwood mgreenwood@pacbell.net wrote in great info joe. my only real complaint with the infinity amp is that its *too* bassie sp too much bass. i listen mainly to 70-80s rock and /talk so i dont want/need that hip-hop thump. as far as power...i dont need it that loud either i know its cleaner at lower levels too. so unless its a simple crossover issue to fix the bass problem i might very well bypass the infinity amp with the new head. right now i have the bass slider almost to the bottom and treble a bit above midrange...thats tolerable. thanks for the advice. --mike michael just remember that if you hook it up that way you wont be taking advantage of the new decks cleaner higher power. youll still be at the mercy of the oem infinity amp and speakers. anyway when you get tired of the crappy sound from the nice head unit you can rewire the head directly to the speakers for much better sound. and yes crutchfield has the hookup to integrate the head unit into the factory wiring. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 5.0 mustang lx hatch with a few goodies michael greenwood mgreenwood@pacbell.net wrote in sorry for the joe bit but he replied too *and* signed his name...so it stuck with me so thank you too azwiley1. thats the info i was looking and hoping for. --mike thanks joe ok. anyway! you can just replace the head unit just make sure you connect the blue wire on the harness from the new radio to the blue wire on the harness adaptor for the truck. hi joe thanks for the input. what if i just want to replace the head unit and keep all else the same iow wire the new head to the infinity amp etc big deal does crutchfiels have a harness for it thanks. --mike all true. because the oem head unit infinity amp and factory crossovers are all hooked into the factory harness its necessary to rewire right from the new head unit to an aftermarket amp if applicable to the new crossovers and to the new speakers. its not a trivial job but probably worth it if the new components are decent. joe black 03 dakota 5.9 r/t cc calypso green 93 5.0 mustang lx hatch with a few goodies azwiley1 azwiley1@spamearthblowslynk.net wrote in michael i have been doing car audio for almost 13 years a lot on and off but none the less i can tell you it is not as easy as just installing a new head unit. each vehicle is different. the problem lies here though if you install say the alpine cda-9811 am/fm/cd/mp3/wma player w/built in eq and crossover which is a 50x4 unit and you connect the amp trigger lines together guess what you just negated the power on the deck and are only using the amp in the truck. you have to completely by pass the amp in the truck by running new wires to the speakers to tapping in to the factory wires past the amp to use the features of the new unit. the same would apply if you added a new amp to the new deck. hope this helps and clears it up some. michael greenwood mgreenwood@pacbell.net wrote in message hi joe so would replacing the head unit be a simple exercise if the amp is seperate i want a unit that will play mp3s on a cd. the stock unit on my 03 will not. it is the infinity system btw. --mike iamgoode@aol.com iamgoode wrote in im looking to upgrade my factory stereo ive blown 3 infinity speakers now and im ready for something else. i want to replace the front speakers wtih better quality but the same size and put something a little larger in the back doors its a quad cab. my questions are does the back speaker set up have a cross over in the premium factory system would seperates or coaxial work better in the back anyone have luck running any larger speakers under the factory grilles recommended wattage ratings thanks. sean rec.bicycles.marketplace the 00 dak sound system is similar to the 03 which is what i have. the basic layout is this stock oem head unit about 5 watts/channel rms speaker leads feed the infinity amp about 15 watts/channel rms in the passenger kick panel which in turn drives the speakers. btw the infinity amp is very heavily eqd to compensate for the lousy speakers. in the cc the front speakers are components whereas the rears are simply coaxial. dont know about the qc rears but the fronts are the same. th

if driving a fwd car youd think you can use the parking brake to straighten out of a slide but all the ones ive seen have the parking brake on the front wheels - making that useless. bryan really which ones my wifes old honda and her current intrepid both have the parking brake in the rear. ok i havent looked at all that many fwd cars brake systems though of the ones ive seen had the parking brakes on the front axle. b .

check the jamb nut and adjuster for travel on the top of the box. loosen the jamb nut and put a quarter turn on the adjuster until the steering wheel has less thna an 1/8 turn of slop. re-adjust if need be after driving for a day or two. the other suggestions are worthy of consideration as well use all of this info and you should be in great shape. max anvils dont kill cartoon characters cartoon characters kill cartoon characters. naw you dont have to that. its the steering coupler at the gear box. they go bad all the time. go to your local dodge dealer and tell them you need a reapair kit for the steering coupler. they will know what your talking about. i will say it aint easy but worth it. if i had a dime for every one of those i replaced............................. i would have $7 or $8bucks. good luck .
