Q: i just realized on the way to work this morning that the fan in my 2002 dakota qc only works in the highest setting. i assume this to mean that i need to replace the fan is this correct nope - blower motor resistor block. look up under the dash and you should see it bolted/screwed to the blower motor housing. its got a wiring harness running to it with 4 wires. unplug the connector unbolt/screw the pack and replace it. fairly simple to do... .

yes it will do that but fuel use per passenger mile is higher by train and passengers still have to get to the station and from the station to their destination at the other end. a flat out lie. rail fuel usage compared to that of the same number of passengers on the highway is less than half. fuel economy for frieght over highway trucks is much better. as for the end point commute this is far less than the full distance and often can be done by car pool or public transit. face it arguing that individual vehicles are better and more fuel efficient than one vehicle moving the same number of people 100 autos vs. a train with 8 railcars carring twice the number of passengers is pure fallicy. add to that the pollution reduction and lack of trffic jams and trains become even more attractive. hell lets assume a commute of 25 miles all done by one person in a vehicle that by some miracle gets 25mpg in 30-40mph traffic. move 100 people youve burned 100 gallons of fuel and taken 45-60 minutes to arrive. a train propelled by a diesel most are electric but im trying to make it easy for you to understand going 60mph will get there in less than 30 minutes and burn half the fuel. in addition itll likely haul 200 passengers or more. -- max there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author max dodge wrote but i suspect none of that matters as the author of the original post is likely just another whiner in a long line of those concerned about oil consumption. if you are that concerned sir take up the cause of rail transport with your congresssman. a good rail system will cut use of personal vehicles yes it will do that but fuel use per passenger mile is higher by train and passengers still have to get to the station and from the station to their destination at the other end. and lower the number of tractor trailers on the highways. this will save far more fuel than a dodge durango that weighs 600 pounds less. as above the freight has to reach the station be handled onto the train offloaded and trucked to its final detination. hardly efficient and not likely to save a drop of oil. could even be more expensive. in fact it is more expensive less efficient and less convenient with time delays as well otherwise business would still use trains as the primary means of transport for goods if not people. huw .

comments4u wrote with job cuts announced on both sides of the atlantic its clear daimler-chrysler is serious about cutting the fat. even more it has announced plans for increased production at the currently hot chrysler unit without additional workers. that is truely cutting the fat. but observers wonder if daimler-chrysler has really identified all its fat. no. its about getting america off its lardy ass and competing at world standard productivity levels. compete or die. the world is hungry for jobs and theres no space for lazy weaklings. graham .

people working on the automotive industry lines going hungry are you kidding the average pay for a uaw worker far exceeds the average non uaw worker. they are well above poverty and get better benefits the most everyone else especially the deals they get on cars they build. the unions have put quite a stranglehold on the industry and have created the problem in hte automotive industry at least in the us. it is hard to fix a problem with the cars you produce if you are not allowed to make personnel/mfg/location changes as necessary because the union always steps in. you think they are looking out for the little guy but they are just political they are looking out for themselves only. .

moral of the story never take a misfire code p030x for granted. aka keyswitch code 43 the fix can be as simple as rerouting the plug wires so they dont arc between them tsb 18-48-98 or it can be difficult and very-very expensive. for those who recall me fighting a p0307 cyl #7 misfire code on my 97 ram 1500 80k miles for the past 19 months i got the truck back and it is finally fixed albeit $1946.71 later - and thats in u.s. dollars for any of you canucks who may be wondering - actually the grand total is at least $350 more than that if we factor in all of the prior diagnosing and attempts over the past 19 months by independent shops and my own shadetree work. alas none of these efforts had any long-lasting effect. after many frustrating months of trying this and trying that and the problem always coming back the bottom line was it had to go to the dealer. though far cheaper than a new truck it was a tad expensive but a couple hundred less than the original estimate. the fix two complete -new- fully assembled cylinder heads @ $353 apiece top-end overhaul gasket set $144 for gaskets holy tomatoe! both o2 sensors at $102 each ! again - kinda proud of these new cap rotor plugs ignition wire set t-stat coolant oil etcetera etcetera etcetera etcetera and etcetera total parts $1275.21 total labor $ 671.50 8 hrs @ $79 12-mos/12000 mi warranty on the parts & labor yes both i did ask free loaner car for 4 days nice to have ole nelliebelle back home. .

you know that one of the two sensors is bad. you can spend hours tracking down the error code to determine which one of the two is bad. or you can replace one. if it doesnt fix it put the old one back in and replace the other one. or since youre probably 100k miles past the reasonable service life of a thin platinum wire that lives in the exhaust stream you can just replace both and move on to something more interesting. -rev parts changer whos time is worth more than a $25 sensor .

if you say so but that really doesnt make sense. the error code you are getting indicates a post converter sensor so your vehicle thinks it is or was there. bank 2 iirc refers to the passenger side and sensor 2 refers to the downstream sensor or post converter. without a sensor behind or attached to the converter how does the pcm know if the converter is functioning properly where did you get this cat-back dual exhaust if you disconnect either sensor you will get additional diag codes. you could try replacing the passenger side sensor but i doubt that it will correct the problem. when did the light come on in relation to your installation of your dual exhaust i would also take another look at that converter for that sensor. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving tbone writes are you sure that there is no sensor behind the converter. it could be on top of the pipe and sometimes it is actually on the very tail of the converter itself again on the top. yes i am sure. i have cat-back dual exhaust. but thanks for asking. has anybody tried the sensor imitator. i guess it is suppose to act like the o2 sensor but isnt. if you have tried it does it work also what happens if you just disconnect the sensor is there a way to test the sensor thanks hank .
