Plastic Dash Cracked on Dodge Ram 4X4

Q: my 2000 dodge 4x4 dash cracked this spring and so did my buddies same truck we live in south florida and never gets too cold and neither go in rough terrain any body else have this problem and where did you go to get a new one thanks .

get it checked these rears can be a real pos with dcs cutting costs and using cheap bearings in them. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i have an 01 dakota 3.9l automatic and i think the rear end is a 355. i have only about 22 k on it and the rear end has a slight whine when you accelerate. if you let off the gas it stops then as you accelerate it whines again. is this a normal noise i was thinking about changing the fluid soon anyway and i wanted to know if this is something i should get checked out. it doesnt sound like metal or grinding just a whine. any opinions are appreciated. gary b. .

the dash cracked because of change in temperature but i also believe that it cracked because of a flaw or defect in the plastic and wanted to know if anyone else had this happen and where you could go to get replacement .

my 2000 dodge 4x4 dash cracked this spring and so did my buddies same truck we live in south florida and never gets too cold and neither go in rough terrain any body else have this problem and where did you go to get a new one thanks maybe its a florida thing. a couple of snowbirds were here this spring with the same problem. both had 94/95 trucks. both had a crack at the dash near to the windshield. we sent them to a fellow who welds plastic. it was about $500.00 cheaper than a new dash. you cannot get the section that cracks from chrysler. it seems to work and they were happy. check around and see if anyone welds plastic near you. i had never heard of it before this but when we called a weld shop they knew all about it. .
