i have noticed the last few months that when my air conditioner is blowing and i accelerate the air quits blowing out of the vents and then returns after i reach normal speed. it happens on fresh air and recirculation settings. has anyone got any suggestions ramguy .

someone correct me if im wrong but i belive the 4.7 uses a timing chan system simmular to the 2.7 v6 yep - three chains actually one from the crank sprocket to the idler sprocket and then one each from the idler sprocket to the cam sprockets. .

you can eliminate that musty stale air odor that comes from your air conditioning system with a product called atmosklear. atmosklear is an odorless odor eliminator and works amazingly well. you can find it in the air freshener aisle at most target stores or order it on line at www.atmosklear.net. simply spray the interior of the vehicle lightly then spray into each air portal a couple of trigger sprays. turn the fan on pulling outside air thru the system. go outside the car to the cowl at the base of the windshield and put about 20-25 trigger sprays into the system. let it run for two or three minutes. now go back into the car switch over to max air-conditioning. put about a dozen trigger sprays in the air in general and let the vehicle run for about ten minutes. you are left with a fresh nothing. get some at target. it is amazing. --- maf anti-spam id 20050527121052e3x0wpg9 .

coasty wrote hey all ! i replaced my condensor about a month ago and recharged the system w/a freon and oil combo set with the single gauge setup. all was fine and cold enough then 2 days ago i fired up the truck and the unit was not blowing cold air just cool so i grabbed the single gauge and tested the low side and it read the same as after i initially refilled system. the clutch kicks in intermittently for about 4 seconds and shuts off for about 4 seconds quite consistently. seems like the low on freon symptom. i tried to put a little more freon in but noticed that it didnt seem to help the on then off syndrome. i did not overfill at this point the gauge still being in the blue. is there a solenoid or switch to check or replace for this condition it is hot as hell out here. i dont want to get ripped off by some shop as i was hoping to remedy this and sell this great little truck with 200k miles for a new yellow hemi slt while the incentives are on. any suggestions thanks julio well with out a proper set of gauges not the one gage check method filling as per manufacturer instructions checking pressure chart based on ambient temperature checking the super heat temp a proper leak test properly evacuated the system because all the refrigerant was gone or had air entrainment more than likely not having been trained in automotive hvac or licensed as per the epa you have screwed the pooch and you are lucky you have not blown your compressor or yourself any one of the above is your problem. the compressor cycling it is low on refrigerant leak in system a vacuum held on the system would of found it. if you did not pump down the system it is full of air you cannot evaporate air. i agree that it is kinda fool hardy to use a single low side gauge to determine the charge status of a systems. also the main reason you evacuate the system is to remove moisture which air can hold too because its presence moisture can realy muck up the works in a a/c system -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-98-dakota-318-ftopict130829.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=636888 .

those with the fifth wheel load placed directly over the rear axle speak approvingly of that position in terms of maneuverability. you may find your steering is light at low speeds - but not something that is desireable at higher speeds. in fact downright dangerous in some situations. heavy braking will cause the vehicle to lose steering as the vehicle will tend to lift its front axle if the fifth wheel is over or behind the rear axle. common cause of jack knifing a semi trailer is to have insufficient weight transferred onto the tow vehicle steer axle you can induce a power jack knife by just putting your foot down too hard on the accelerator. and on and on. theres plenty more reasons not to fiddle about with fifth wheel formulae. can you then explain why the instructions from dodge for my 2003 dodge ram 3500 specifically states that the hitch be centered precisely over the centerline of the rear axle fwiw ive *never* encountered any lightening of the front end when *slowing* while towing my 14100# 5er. hint the leverage upon the frame that results from the vertical arm of the hitch support forces the front end *down* during deceleration. .

on wed 20 jul 2005 185027 -0500 william boyd williamboyd@direcway.com wrote snip i would think that the weight of the engine would be one of the considering factors for hitch location. such as the ram hitch is over the axle but my 94 gmc with a 350 gas engine is 3 forward. both trucks are almost the same length and wheel base. the ram clearance is 37 pin to cab but the 5th wheel is quite a bit wider. i do not know what the turn angle is but it will be far less than 90deg. i might consider on installing a slider so i can gain cab clearance of a couple of inches at 90deg that would be aproximately 11 plus the desired clearance. my rig is 96 wide pin location is aproximately 1 forward of front cap. i know the cumins engine is heavy but i dont think i would consider runnig down the road with the pin slid back. any suggestions hey wild bill... how ya been we decided not to get a fiver but researched them for quite awhile... most folks said that the extra $100 or so for the sliding hitch was cheap insurance for when they had a tight spot to get in or out of... most had never needed it but used it a few times to see how it worked.. a lot depends on the truck config.... the longer the bed the less chance of needing one etc... mac please remove splinters before emailing .

suddenly without warning crb exclaimed 20-jul-05 401 am im leaning toward buying one of these. i think the salesman bs about the 5.7 l hemi getting the mileage was a joke. i have a 2001 4.7l club cab 4x4. i got an average of just under 17mpg in the us but im getting a bit less here - guestimating around 14-15mpg. fwiw i do really like my truck. its had little things that needed fixing but nothing thats kept me off the road. jmc .
