Parts for 1975 360 rebuild?
From : lance carpenter
Q: im rebuilding the 360 v8 in my 1975 dodge 1/2 ton and have experienced some difficulty locating the correct heater hose and bypass hose fittings for the intake manifold. im changing over to an edelbrock performer and none of the parts stores seem to be able to locate the right size fittings. the heater hose fitting is for a 1/2 id hose and the threaded portion is 5/8 in diameter with 18 threads per inch tpi. the bypass fitting is for a 1 id hose and the threaded portion is 1 in diameter with 14 tpi. my local chrysler dealer checked on the availability of parts and found that they are not in the chrysler system anymore. the latest part numbers that he could find were 4105725 bypass and 2936298 heater. does anyone know where i might be able to locate replacements i am going to try and salvage the fittings from my old manifold but theyre pretty rough and my hopes arent high. thanks in advance for your help! lance carpenter .

either a junkyard might have usable fittings or you may have to see if a local machine shop would take on the project. if restoration correctness isnt an issue just use ace hardware pipe fitting trimmed to length. theyll be covered by the hoses anyway. budd lance carpenter wrote im rebuilding the 360 v8 in my 1975 dodge 1/2 ton and have experienced some difficulty locating the correct heater hose and bypass hose fittings for the intake manifold. im changing over to an edelbrock performer and none of the parts stores seem to be able to locate the right size fittings. the heater hose fitting is for a 1/2 id hose and the threaded portion is 5/8 in diameter with 18 threads per inch tpi. the bypass fitting is for a 1 id hose and the threaded portion is 1 in diameter with 14 tpi. my local chrysler dealer checked on the availability of parts and found that they are not in the chrysler system anymore. the latest part numbers that he could find were 4105725 bypass and 2936298 heater. does anyone know where i might be able to locate replacements i am going to try and salvage the fittings from my old manifold but theyre pretty rough and my hopes arent high. thanks in advance for your help! lance carpenter .
