Part Number doesn't exist??

From : eric b

Q: michael wrote i have a 98 dodge ram and i broke one of the spark plug wire seperators that is attached to the valve cover stud on the drivers side. the one i broke is the middle one that holds the heater hose as well. i went to dodge to order the part but they claim that part doesnt exist in the parts database. i find that hard to beleive. does anyone have access to the part numbers and can tell me what the part number for this peice is http//www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/moparonline.htm if they dont have it no one does. eric -- 2000 xr250 74 elsinore mr50 original owner 99 cr80 11yr old daughter 96 rm80 14yr old son 2000 ds80 visiting kids. remove nospam from reply-to .

dakota joints are about $60 ea.moog + install but 1 ton are probably more. jim how much did they charge for yours i had the ball joints replaced on my 97 dakota at my local speedy/monro shop. they use moog ball joints with lifetime warrenty on parts. much better than the low quality oem dodge junk. i was told i need the upper and lower ball joints replaced on my truck. does anyone here know where to get really good ones and does anyone know if this could be an extended warranty item i would bet not. but i was hoping! thanks reply here or to my email --- outgoing mail is certified virus free. checked by avg anti-virus system http//www.grisoft.com. version 6.0.515 / virus database 313 - release date 9/1/2003 .

there are a few things to check to get this problem fixed. 1. vibration in the drive line comes from just a few places tires out of balance drive shaft or something is loose. if something is loose this could be really bad. ever seen someone lose a tire at 65mph not pretty. check this first. if bolts are tight get the balance fixed. it is not uncommon for your tires on the rear to throw a weight. if not balanced properly you could vibrate the steering wheel out of your hands at freeway speeds. so get the balance checked as soon as you make sure the bolts are tight. next if this doesnt solve the problem while your getting the balance checked have them check the tread depth on your rear tires. if you have a posi or limited slip rear-end tires that vary in sized by more than 1/32 of an inch can cause some odd vibration problems in rare cases. uneven tire pressure can accentuate this problem as well. if the limited slip is trying to lock up when your traveling straight line it can cause a slight hop in the rear axel that shakes the whole vehicle. the best way to solve this is new tires but it is vary rare for it to be caused by more than uneven tire pressure. if none of the above solves your vibration problem get your drive shaft checked for balance. also rare but vibration in the driveline can signal potential failure of other drive line components or just loss of a balancing weight that was tack welded on that came off. hope this helps. rde a.k.a 53 dodge ok i went a little long on rotating my tires. they have 15k on them. before i rotated them there was no problem and a smooth ride but after rotating them it shakes the snot out of you between 60 and 70 mph. was it too late to rotate will it smooth out over time or should i put them back where they were and forget rotating them. p265 75r 15 criss cross rotation. thanks. .

it appears the inverse is true too as i have parts that i have bought that they dont list them. michael wrote i have a 98 dodge ram and i broke one of the spark plug wire seperators that is attached to the valve cover stud on the drivers side. the one i broke is the middle one that holds the heater hose as well. i went to dodge to order the part but they claim that part doesnt exist in the parts database. i find that hard to beleive. does anyone have access to the part numbers and can tell me what the part number for this peice is http//www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/moparonline.htm if they dont have it no one does. eric -- 2000 xr250 74 elsinore mr50 original owner 99 cr80 11yr old daughter 96 rm80 14yr old son 2000 ds80 visiting kids. remove nospam from reply-to .
