Q: ok ive been wondering about the pto hookups i have on my 2500 qc and have always wondered....what can you do with these what can i run and where do i find out what id need and how much itd cost in my head im designing a winch setup and found hydraulic winches that run off the power steering pump but i dont want to tap into that source. is a hydraulic winch any better or stronger than an electric what benefits with hydraulic over electric...or vice versa what other items can i run off my pto ports -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels .

looks like warn is about the best selection of winches available in both electric and hydraulic. they have a hydraulic winch with a rated 20k lb capacity on first layer of spool. i think that one would take care of any vehicle id have to pull out of a ditch when it snows. now to see about a pump thatll work well with it...or one of the smaller winches. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels ok ive been wondering about the pto hookups i have on my 2500 qc and have always wondered....what can you do with these what can i run and where do i find out what id need and how much itd cost in my head im designing a winch setup and found hydraulic winches that run off the power steering pump but i dont want to tap into that source. is a hydraulic winch any better or stronger than an electric what benefits with hydraulic over electric...or vice versa what other items can i run off my pto ports -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels .

nah....ive got something else in mind as an anchor that wont put that much strain on my frame. also i dont expect to be trying to pull something that large out of a stick. but i would rather have more winch that necessary for my given task. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels carolina watercraft works wrote looks like warn is about the best selection of winches available in both electric and hydraulic. they have a hydraulic winch with a rated 20k lb capacity on first layer of spool. i think that one would take care of any vehicle id have to pull out of a ditch when it snows. now to see about a pump thatll work well with it...or one of the smaller winches. keep in mind that a winch shouldnt be rated for more than your tow vehicle weighs if your pulling with the frame as an anchor. unless you want to buckle the frame. -- steve w. ----== posted via pro.com - unlimited-unrestricted-secure usenet ==---- http//www.pro.com the #1 group service in the world! 100000 groups ---= - total privacy via encryption =--- .
