Orange county, speed limit reduced?

Q: hi all i have a 2001 dakota with the 4.7 v-8 that i bought new. now that it is out of warranty i want to install dual exhaust. what mufflers would give me the best performance. what problems can i expect in regards to mpg hp heat and etc. tia hank .
