Q: only one b ill bet you think the govt is only acting in your best interest dont you unless youre the lead sheep the views always the same. merlin what the government has to do with the saefty features designed into your ram is beyond me. are you so obtuse that you fail to realize the inherent safety of keeping your daughter in the back seat where by design she is safer in the event of a frontal impact you posted a query in this ng you got answers some telling you how to disable the airbags if you so choose others pointing out the folly of your quest. you make the choice after all it is your daughters life that you are compromising.... if you can live with that so be it.... but maybe she wont. mike hi ive just bought a 04 ram 1500 quad cab and am very happy with it. i have an 8 year old daughter who goes everywhere with me and i need to disconnect the passenger side air bag to make it legal and safe for her to ride in the front with me. the quad cabs dont have the key switch in the dash supposed to stick the kids in the back seat. i think i found the plug above the glove box yellow with an orange plastic tab but am unsure about messing around with it and getting the bag to function with my noggin right in front of it. is this the right plug how do the air bags actuate thanks merlin. merlin if you are so concerned for her safety as you appear to be then put her in the back seat where she will be safer. quit trying to beat the safety system in the truck. if something happens i hope nothing does and she gets hurt in the front seat you will alway wonder if it was partially or fully your fault for not having her in the back where she belongs. -- fmb only one b in fmb .

great stuff! case in point for automotive though is strictly 12 vdc so the problem of unequal use on the end batteries doesnt really crop up. also you have oodles of very expensive batteries in those back up systems to distribute the load keeps it under the 25% figure for continuous charge/discharge. am wondering didnt see it in the articles what the long term rate is for those agms is; can imagine it to be better than the flooded types thanks for the info; .

open rears tend to favor one axle but i forgot which one tom lawrence has it right it favors the one with less traction. under equal traction a condition so rare its hard to fit to reality its been claimed that the right axle is favored. this isnt really true since there are always conditions existing that show why the right axle spun. but since the right axle tends to spin more than the left one it is still favored. limited slip diffs have both good and bad points and one of the bad points can be dangerous so unless it is requested when someone orders the truck they usually dont have them. horse pucky. the limited slip or in the dodge anti spin or sure grip isnt standard because it costs more. bullshit. if this were true then all of the trucks on the lot would be stripped down work specials. most of the ones on the lot are loaded to the teeth with options and they all cost more. i think that the limited slip option is about $150.00 not much additional cost when compared to the heated leather seats many of them have. actually the lsd option is over $350 but as to why they dont have more vehicles especially the 4wds have em installed on the dealer lots that i dont know i figure most people in general dont even care what an lsd is and thus it does help to keep costs down otherwise in my opinion all 4wds should have em here in new england i wouldnt have a truck without one! i would prefer a full locker. or an arb air locker. 79 t/a ws6 455 hurst 4 spd blk w/ t-tops heavily fortified 4mpg 00 ram 2500hd qc v-10 4x4blk5 spd410 lsd 10mpg 98 intruder 1400 blk 5 spd 25mpg .

tom thanks. you wouldnt live anywhere near austin texas would you -; about 1700 miles away actually - will i need to remove the rear disk brake calipers thats something i dont know how to do. yes you will. two bolts hold the caliper to the mounting bracket. its no big deal. you dont have to touch the brake lines. just get a bungee cord or some heavy wire and tie the calipers up to the frame or the suspension or anywhere that will hold them so they dont put stress on the brake lines. - how do you remove those spider/side gears do they just slip off or something once the cross shaft is out turn one of the axles. the side gears will either fall out or will rotate between the side gears where you can just pull them out. - you dont pull the axles all the way out do you you dont have to - you can just pull them out a few inches but its always been my practice to remove them and replace the axle seals. its up to you. .

it most likely will work on your dak although the manual doesnt specify any manufacturer. ford gmc and dc all use a different signal level for their obdii outputs. the operators manual is available for download from harbor freight. one good thing about the operators manual is that it lists every generic dtc code and its description *and* also the specific manufacturers dtc codes well so they claim. thats probably worth the download alone.. its a very simple reader. you plug it into the diagnostic socket it displays the four digit error code. you then look up the error code in the supplied operators manual its on-line. then if you dont unplug it within 4 minutes it will clear the code. this might be worth it for a simple code reader you could store in your glove box for on the road trip emergencies. i think id prefer something with more features if i were going to service my vehicle with it. intermittent troubles would be difficult to find with this one. im currently looking at some of the pc laptop based versions. nirodac hi has anyone bought the obd ii reader from harbor freight that they sell for $39.99 they call it call a universal code reader catalog no.46030-1hch. is it any good and will it work on my 98 dakota thanks alan to reply by email replace nospam with comcast in my address .

i have been to that site. it has nothing i need. try this site for start on your wiring diagrams. also has good trouble shooting tipw. http//www.the12volt.com/request/99ram.asp i have been search in vain for a 1999 dodge ram wiring diagram. free on the net of course. the problem i am having started with the power outlet in the dash. it stopped working. i thought it may be a fuse. nope. it is tied in with the cigarette lighter at the fuse center. next. right front speaker starts cuting out..then fails altogther..at first i thought loose wiring since some work was done in that area a while back. then the left front speak goes out. after that i start getting crappy radio reception. ah! it must be radio. i changed the radio..receiption has improved but front speakers are still out. i pulled the panel on the driver door and checked for voltage coming out that wireac meter of course dead. now i am thinking there must be a another point where those items connect and may have come loose. do the speaker wires go directly to the radio thanks for any help .

i remember when ford built good engines way back in...... some people are of the opinion that the last good engine ford built was the flathead v8 now ford doesnt build the navistar diesel just as dodge doesnt build the cummins diesel draw your own conclusions politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

maybe they will put a diesel into a half-ton and show ford dodge and chevy that people actually do want a diesel in a smaller truck. shoot they need to put one in the frontier too! some people like the diesel for its power some like them for their fuel economy. probably the ford. dodge is more of a show truck. looks great and all but for the hard work i would get the ford or wait for the nissan titan diesel to come out. is nissan going to have a heavy-duty truck anytime soon i thought they were sticking to competing with the 150/1500s. .

ahhh that is why no one replied! you are right though. diesels dont use much gas at all! thanks for the info. the gas mileage in these trucks is great! you can go thousands of miles and never use a gallon of gas. sorry i couldnt resist. your fuel mileage should be very good compared to a gas engine. you can expect 16-18 city and 20-24 depending on a lot of factors highway. chris i am looking to buy a 1991 dodge 2wd diesel. what kind of gas mileage can i expect auto trans/manual trans it will not be pulling a trailer just work supplies welder etc .

i am skeptical but im going to try it anyway! are you in need of cash dont go and steal it. try this. this really can make you easy money!! it works!!! but you have to follow the letter for it to work!!!! this is not a pyramid scam!! you too can be rich!!!!! a little while back i was browsing through group just like you are now and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! so i thought yeah right this must be a scam but like most of us i was curious so i kept reading. anyway it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. you then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6 and post the article in at least 200 groups. there are thousands no catch that was it. so after thinking it over and talking to few people first i thought about trying it. i figured what have i got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00 right like most of us i was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it so i checked it out with the u.s. post office 1-800-725-2161 and they confirmed that it is indeed legal! then i invested the measly $6.00. well guess what within 7 days i started getting money in the mail! i was shocked! i figured it would end soon but the money just kept coming in. in my first week i made about $25.00. by the end second week i had made a total over $1000.00! in the third week i had over $10000.00 and its still growing. this is now my fourth week and i have made a total of just over $42000.00 and its still coming in rapidly. its certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps i have spent more than that on the lottery!! let me tell you how this works and most importantly why it works also make sure you print a copy of this article now so you can get the information off of it as you need it. step 1 get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper please put me on your mailing list. now get 6 us $1.00 bills and place one inside each of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. next place one paper in each stating the above phrase your name and address and a $1.00 bill. what you are doing is creating a service by this. this is absolutely legal! mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses #1 k. hayes 9211 ne 15th ave #h-322 vancouver wa 98665 #2 g. jarnagin 115 s. 7th st. #6 garrett in 46738 #3 hue le 820 west 4th ave #138 chico ca 95926 #4 brandon butler 25 clark park rd hooks tx 75561 #5 travis pederson 1506-10020 103 ave edmonton ab canada t5j0g8 #6 gs laughter pob 2585 birmingham al 35202 step 2 now take the #1 name off the list that you see above move the other names up 6 becomes 5 5 becomes 4 etc and add your name as number 6 on the list. step 3 change anything you need to but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. now post your amended article to at least 200 groups message board. i think there are close to 24000 groups all you need is 200 but remember the more you post the more money you make! ---- directions---- how to post to groups message board---------- step 1 you do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document and select copy from the edit menu. this will copy the entire letter into the computer memory. step 2 open a blank notepad file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. from the edit menu select paste. this will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list. step 3 save your new notepad file as a .txt file. if you want to do your postings in different sittings youll always have this file to go back to. step 4 use netscape or internet explorer and try searching for various groups on-line forums message boards chat sites discussions. just example you log on any search engine like yahoo.com google.com altavista.com excite.com then you search with this subject millionaire message board money-making message board employment message board money-making discussions money making forum and business message board etc. you will find thousand & thousand message board. click one by one then you will find the option post a new message. step 5 visit these messages boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. fill in the subject this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group click the post message button. youre done with your first one! congratulations thats it! all you have to do is jump to different groups and post away after you get the hang of it and it will take about 30 seconds for each group! ** remember the more groups or message b

it most likely will work on your dak although the manual doesnt specify any manufacturer. ford gmc and dc all use a different signal level for their obdii outputs. the operators manual is available for download from harbor freight. one good thing about the operators manual is that it lists every generic dtc code and its description *and* also the specific manufacturers dtc codes well so they claim. thats probably worth the download alone.. its a very simple reader. you plug it into the diagnostic socket it displays the four digit error code. you then look up the error code in the supplied operators manual its on-line. then if you dont unplug it within 4 minutes it will clear the code. this might be worth it for a simple code reader you could store in your glove box for on the road trip emergencies. i think id prefer something with more features if i were going to service my vehicle with it. intermittent troubles would be difficult to find with this one. im currently looking at some of the pc laptop based versions. nirodac hi has anyone bought the obd ii reader from harbor freight that they sell for $39.99 they call it call a universal code reader catalog no.46030-1hch. is it any good and will it work on my 98 dakota thanks alan to reply by email replace nospam with comcast in my address nirodac check out the best for a laptop and let me know code readers are only as good as the diagnostic flow charts to fix problem .

many new hvac systems regulate temperature inside the cab by moving a blending door to choose between the heater core which is always on full and the a/c core which may or may not be on depending on your selection of switches on the dash. when the a/c compressor is called for the cooling coil will tend to maintain a cold temperature just like the heater coil maintains one hot temperature and you would then select a position for the damper door to get a blend of the two temperatures which makes you all comfy in the cab. if the temperature output of your unit is swinging wildly it must be that the blending door is malfunctioning. it is usually operated by using engine vacuum connected through a small hose to the switches or thermostat on your dash then to a small damper motor connected to the blender door. something in that series is not working properly .. a common problem is often that you have a vacuum leak somewhere else around the engine compartment that is not leaving the hvac system enough vacuum to operate properly. look for hoses under the hood that have been pinched or left off by some previous work ... or that a rodent has chewed through etc. listen around the engine compartment for some constant hissing ... repair as needed. ack! my a/c is acting up in my 2001 dodge ram i am beyond 36k miles & i need some advice. it blows either hot air or cold air...nothing or not much in between. my compressor always kicks on. the hot air always blows fine however the cold air will sometimes blow hot...actually about 50% of the time...and when it does blow cold itll switch to blowing hot usually within a couple minutes. sometimes turning it off & back on again will make it blow cold again...for just a few more minutes though. i took it to pep boys and they said they think its a problem with the vent door under the dash or something like that. i called the dealer and they think it might be something else no description given. i want to get some ideas of what it might be before i take it in to get it fixed and get a $2000 bill slight exaggeration there. anyway...what do you guys think thanks! steve .
