let me also say that i was never told by the dodge dealership that services my truck that the condenser was broken. however they did tell me the freon or whatever the ecofriendly stuff is called needed to be recharged. so i went ahead and them put two pounds of the stuff in. and the a/c still does not work. so when these guys at the dealership i was trying to do the trade in at told me the condenser was broken...i just assumed it was true cuz the freon recharge didnt work. just thought that would help... did they put in a tracer dye and saw it somewhere along the condenser or are they just guessing its far more likely for an evaporator to leak than the condenser no real mechanical reason for this just many more people have suffered evaporator leaks. if it is truly a leaking condenser then an aftermarket replacement is around $150. labor to swap the condenser shouldnt be more than an hour as compared to an evaporator which takes almost the whole day. so youre looking at between $200 and $225 plus the cost of the refrigerant - maybe $300 total $350 tops. .

on jun 16 836 pm yabahoobs chendrik...@gmail.com wrote ...on my 1998 dodge ram 1500 sport. w/ the 5.9 5.8 l v8. 80 k mileage... i was told to expect mucho dinero for the repair. is it worth getting a used one of the internet and having the local dodge dealership install it im trying to save as much money as possible. i am trying to sell the truck and get as much as possible for it. in a trade in it was appraised at 5000 with the broken condenser. i scoffed at that and left. any thoughts obviously i can get way more for this truck if the a/c works. reputable sites out there for a condenser i was also told the blower should be repalced if the condenser is being replaced...i dunno about that...seems fishy. any help would be appreciated. thanks guys. let me also say that i was never told by the dodge dealership that services my truck that the condenser was broken. however they did tell me the freon or whatever the ecofriendly stuff is called needed to be recharged. so i went ahead and them put two pounds of the stuff in. and the a/c still does not work. so when these guys at the dealership i was trying to do the trade in at told me the condenser was broken...i just assumed it was true cuz the freon recharge didnt work. just thought that would help... .

glasses and took a good close look at the job site and grunted and groaned until it broke free... right into my ugly face. aw heck... is that all we all have some good and not so good battle scars. ive told one of my stories on here before - but id much rather take a cotter pin/pliers to the forehead than take a face/mouth full of gear oil. believe me you got off easy i will probably have a lot of questions about the tie rod end but will read up a bit before i make a further fool of myself. okay - but i gotta warn ya... it involves a cotter pin vbg .

i was told on this dakota that the check valve i dont know if thats actually what its called is located in the tank with the fuel pump. correct. i guess my question is this if i replace the fuel pump will this fix the problem or is the check valve another part that needs to be replaced its all part of the fuel pump module so yes a new fuel pump module will get you a new checkvalve as well. thanks tom .
