Oil Sludge Dodge V6

From : imagehound

Q: during a conversation on the durango the predisposition of the v6 engin to sludge and subsequently clog oil ports reared its ugly head. is this as common a problem even with 4k oil chages as i am being lead to believe is this a failure not coverd by the warantee grg *note to reply...remove the ys .

baed on a person i know that used both those oils in his 83 chevy pick up in which the engine had to be replaced 3 times in the 10 years he owned it because of serious oil sludge buildup. i know he changed the oil often also. i saw one time when the heads were removed. looked like the next placed to dig for coal. thewanderer wrote probably been using quaker state or penns oil and you base that on what jerry .

relax. youre not alone. ive had trouble with both of those brands myself as have several of my ford and gm friends. even briggs stratton stopped recommending them at the last report i had. budd thewanderer wrote baed on a person i know that used both those oils in his 83 chevy pick up in which the engine had to be replaced 3 times in the 10 years he owned it because of serious oil sludge buildup. i know he changed the oil often also. i saw one time when the heads were removed. looked like the next placed to dig for coal. thewanderer wrote probably been using quaker state or penns oil and you base that on what jerry .

i have seen some say that using synthetic full synthetic helps a lot... i am looking to buy a 2002 or 2003 durango with the 4.7 and this oil thing is the only thing that really is scaring me off so far... anyone have any stories good or bad durnago wise probably been using quaker state or penns oil during a conversation on the durango the predisposition of the v6 engin to sludge and subsequently clog oil ports reared its ugly head. is this as common a problem even with 4k oil chages as i am being lead to believe is this a failure not coverd by the warantee grg *note to reply...remove the ys .

the issue is not as much brand sensitive as it is quality sensitive. oils bearing the sf2 designation are much more prone to sludging as are engines operated in high temperatures and high humidity environments. the dodge engines are not any more sensitive than others if the proper oil is used. i have seen some say that using synthetic full synthetic helps a lot... i am looking to buy a 2002 or 2003 durango with the 4.7 and this oil thing is the only thing that really is scaring me off so far... anyone have any stories good or bad durnago wise probably been using quaker state or penns oil during a conversation on the durango the predisposition of the v6 engin to sludge and subsequently clog oil ports reared its ugly head. is this as common a problem even with 4k oil chages as i am being lead to believe is this a failure not coverd by the warantee grg *note to reply...remove the ys .
