Q: on thu 21 oct 2004 070000 gmt t @nyc.rr.com wrote what are the major concerns i should have about performance and detremental affects to the vehicle if i use a snow plow are there any recommendations about which plow and hitch system i should use thanks tony plowing with any truck will somewhat reduce the expected life of front end components like shocks stabilizer ball joints and u-joints. driving on the road with a plow attached will impact handling especially with that heavy engine. i have a fisher regular duty minute mount plow that has been fine doing my own driveway. i have a 2004 2500 hemi and posted the following caution relative to fisher plows last spring -------------------------------------------------------- i have a 3 year old fisher plow that i had used on my 97 ram 1500. last january prior to ordering the 2004 truck i asked the local fisher dealer if the dodge above bumper tow hooks were compatible with the fisher plow mount. the answer was positively yes. so i ordered the tow hooks on the new truck; finally got the new truck and arranged for snowplow install. you guessed it. when i went to pick-up the truck at the fisher dealer with snowplow attached the tow hooks had been removed. also the front license plate and bracket had been removed. both in accordance with official fisher installation instructions. it turns out that on 02-04 rams the tow hook support brackets have to be removed in order to install the plow frame as it is designed. one could reattach the tow hooks but they would probably fail under any serious load. so i paid for a throw-away option. as for the license plate and bracket the plow attach points pushplates are recessed 2 more than on my old truck. there just aint clearance enough in front of the bumper. they must not use front license plates in india where the frame mount was designed. i remember your post from last year. i looked at a couple of 03s and there was no problem with the front plate and head gear on those. perhaps the poster should check out his local dc dealer and take a look at the plows they have put on. roy .

this seems to be a common complaint although i do not suffer from this. could some person out there explain just what this white smoke is i am assuming that this is late injector timing causing flame through the turbo creating tons of water condensation vapor in the exhaust. am i correct secondly there appears to be a factory computer flash that deals with this. there is also an available flash that resolves a high fuel consumption complaint. are they the same does anybody know what firmware version numbers these are do these apply equally to the standard the 555 and the 600 motors thanks in advance steve .
