Q: where oh where do they get the stem cells not from the local supermarket. and they dont grow on trees and some people want to fertilize human eggs that is cause life to start in vitro just to harvest them. i call that murder. -- budd cochran john 316-17 ephesians 28-9 romans 323 623 our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. it is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. john adams i sent a question to rick santorum our state senator. in short i asked what his position on stem cell research is. i feel that stem cell research is essential to finding cures for such things as cancer muscular dystrophy paralysis parkinsons and a host of other diseases. if you agree with senator santorum i urge you to vote for he or those in your state like him. if you agree that stem cell research is essential to medical advancements i urge you to vote against senator santorum and those that share his views. sadly santorums reply shows me exactly how short sighted and how assuming our congressmen are. this is one of many issues that may be decided next week i urge everyone to vote regardless of position. perhaps we can put our values back into the government since they seem to have lost sight of society. my reply to him follows while his reply is below that. senator santorum and staff my question was one about stem cell research. your reply dealt with the issue of abortion and not stem cell research. sadly it is all too often that these issues become somehow confused and intertwined. let me state clearly abortion has little to do with stem cell research. on the issue of abortion i am determined that it is a very personal decision to be made by a medical professional and the patient involved. the hippocratic oath covers this. the last time a government was allowed to start issuing medical decisions that same government also believed genocide was a logical means of population control. while i do not believe the practice of abortion is a good idea i also firmly believe it is not an issue the government has reason to be involved. but let me return to the original question where does senator santorum stand on the issue of stem cell research it is my firmly held belief that stem cell research should be supported by our government. i am not advocating the spending of funds although that would help. i am advocating the support of stem cell research and clearing of legal hurdles for that research that could potentially cure a wide range of disease and maladies suffered by mankind. this is not a question of abortion or right to life in the traditional sense. it is literally the right to many people such as celebrity michael j. fox or my brother to gain hope that stem cell research might one day lead to a cure for parkinsons or in my brothers case muscular dystrophy. it is their right to a life of hope that some day they might be lucky enough to have a chance to test these new methods of treatment let alone be cured by these new methods. sadly given the ease with which you senator and your staff mixed up an issue of abortion with the issue of stem cell research i cannot support you. i asked about stem cell research not abortion. i never mentioned abortion. you failed to even mention stem cell research in the reply to my question. stem cell research does not equate with abortion when posed in a phrase or question. i urge you to change your position or at least find a position regarding stem cell research should you be re-elected. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author ----- original message ----- from senatorsantorum@santorum.senate.gov to max340@verizon.net sent thursday november 02 2006 426 pm subject responding to your message. thank you for contacting me regarding the protection of human life. i appreciate hearing from you and having the benefit of your views. since the roe v. wade decision over 30 years ago abortion has been one of our countrys most important moral issues as it relates to the most fundamental human right - the right to life. i am proud to say that during my time in the house of representatives and in the senate i have maintained a very strong pro-life voting record. i have sponsored and cosponsored numerous pieces of legislation that defend the sanctity of human life. during the 109th congress i am looking forward to leading my colleagues in passing legislation that remains consistent with those values. the recent confirmations of chief justice john roberts and associate justice samuel a. alito jr. to the supreme court of the united states mark a pivotal point in our highest courts history as several issues related to abortion are anticipated to come before the court for consideration. while we do not know with certainty how the court will ru

budd at this even i would have to say that you have crossed a line. how you feel how you think how you wish to worship how you wish to live and base your life on your views of the written word is all fine for you the misses and whom ever else wishes to live that way. these are only right for those that share the same beliefs as you and incase it hasnt been made clear yet not everyone does. and yet im told to tolerate that which the bible says to not tolerate. but for you to say that view other then yours is wrong and is going too far. no not to me. this is not merely a matter or issue of tolerance. i think that everyone has been tolerant until it has been rammed down their throats and i am sorry to say that with this post specifically this line all other views are wrong. that is exactly what you have done. rammed i give up. no one here has the guts to take the responsibility for what they have done to me over my beliefs. this right here is the exact reason i have denounced my roman catholic up bringing. i am a man with a mind and with the ability to think act and judge for myself. and christianity doesnt stop that some denominations like the catholic church do. chritianity sets rules to live by and i have decided to follow those rules for that im catching heck. so i have to ask why are you hell bent on converting everyone to your way of life im not but like ive said because of the general prejudice against fundametal christians no one will admit im not doing anything but quoting scripture. fine so be it. i am sorry my friend but this is how i feel. no apology needed larry. youre being honest and that is good. im being honest with the group and my god and many think thats not good. regardless of that i will always consider you a friend. budd ok since this seems to the real issue lets look at it. . . . i hold the view and belief in the literal interpretation of the bible and it is the inerrant and inspired word of god and this is the right view to have. all other views are wrong. will you tolerate my view -- budd cochran john 316-17 ephesians 28-9 romans 323 623 id rather live assuming there is a god only to die and find out there isnt then to live my whole life assuming there isnt a god only to find out there is. peter barry our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. it is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. john adams -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

trying to logic out a problem in my 2004 dodge 2500 ctd 4x4 six speed. need to know where the speedometer gets its speed signal where the auto door locks get their speed inf. and where the seat belt chime gets its speed inf. if my logic is correct the speedometer and door locks gets inf. from the same sensor and the seat belt alarm gets it from a different sensor. thanks al the reason for the above was my truck had a wacky seat belt chime. if anyone is still interested after two trips to the dealer both times i was told they could find nothing wrong its fixed. the first visit they told me there was nothing wrong and it was working as designed. took them for a ride proved it was not working as designed. left the truck and came back three hours later. was told they had it all ready to go. so i took it home and it was exactly the way it was when i took them for a ride. took it back tuesday again i was told it was working as designed but this time it is. they still maintain they didnt do anything after the first visit the truck had the drls on and they disabled the headlamp timer they fixed that too. tried to get them to add the fast idle deal for the ctd. they said it would only work on an automatic truck because it had to have an in park signal from the transmission. thats understandable. hats off to the service manager barney at tucson dodge. after i talked to him he got right on fixing the problems. al .

given that the federal government has seen fit to fund many different types of research on a wide array of human illness the lack of funding to stem cell research isnt based on monetary reasons but ethical reasons. the fact still remains re lack of funding to stem cell research. you have used the common tactic of combining two subjects. there is considerable funding for adult stem cell research. abortion is not part of the stem cell research issue. sadly many politicians do not realize this nor do their rabid constituants. i didnt mention abortion at all. changing the subject entirely is another common tactic. so do you work for msnbc .

well looks like what could have been a decent discussion is pretty much over. but tuesday is the day. hopefully things will change with the vote!! roy i sent a question to rick santorum our state senator. in short i asked what his position on stem cell research is. i feel that stem cell research is essential to finding cures for such things as cancer muscular dystrophy paralysis parkinsons and a host of other diseases. if you agree with senator santorum i urge you to vote for he or those in your state like him. if you agree that stem cell research is essential to medical advancements i urge you to vote against senator santorum and those that share his views. sadly santorums reply shows me exactly how short sighted and how assuming our congressmen are. this is one of many issues that may be decided next week i urge everyone to vote regardless of position. perhaps we can put our values back into the government since they seem to have lost sight of society. my reply to him follows while his reply is below that. senator santorum and staff my question was one about stem cell research. your reply dealt with the issue of abortion and not stem cell research. sadly it is all too often that these issues become somehow confused and intertwined. let me state clearly abortion has little to do with stem cell research. on the issue of abortion i am determined that it is a very personal decision to be made by a medical professional and the patient involved. the hippocratic oath covers this. the last time a government was allowed to start issuing medical decisions that same government also believed genocide was a logical means of population control. while i do not believe the practice of abortion is a good idea i also firmly believe it is not an issue the government has reason to be involved. but let me return to the original question where does senator santorum stand on the issue of stem cell research it is my firmly held belief that stem cell research should be supported by our government. i am not advocating the spending of funds although that would help. i am advocating the support of stem cell research and clearing of legal hurdles for that research that could potentially cure a wide range of disease and maladies suffered by mankind. this is not a question of abortion or right to life in the traditional sense. it is literally the right to many people such as celebrity michael j. fox or my brother to gain hope that stem cell research might one day lead to a cure for parkinsons or in my brothers case muscular dystrophy. it is their right to a life of hope that some day they might be lucky enough to have a chance to test these new methods of treatment let alone be cured by these new methods. sadly given the ease with which you senator and your staff mixed up an issue of abortion with the issue of stem cell research i cannot support you. i asked about stem cell research not abortion. i never mentioned abortion. you failed to even mention stem cell research in the reply to my question. stem cell research does not equate with abortion when posed in a phrase or question. i urge you to change your position or at least find a position regarding stem cell research should you be re-elected. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author ----- original message ----- from senatorsantorum@santorum.senate.gov to max340@verizon.net sent thursday november 02 2006 426 pm subject responding to your message. thank you for contacting me regarding the protection of human life. i appreciate hearing from you and having the benefit of your views. since the roe v. wade decision over 30 years ago abortion has been one of our countrys most important moral issues as it relates to the most fundamental human right - the right to life. i am proud to say that during my time in the house of representatives and in the senate i have maintained a very strong pro-life voting record. i have sponsored and cosponsored numerous pieces of legislation that defend the sanctity of human life. during the 109th congress i am looking forward to leading my colleagues in passing legislation that remains consistent with those values. the recent confirmations of chief justice john roberts and associate justice samuel a. alito jr. to the supreme court of the united states mark a pivotal point in our highest courts history as several issues related to abortion are anticipated to come before the court for consideration. while we do not know with certainty how the court will rule on many of these matters there is optimism among pro-life supporters about further review of some of these important issues. building a culture of life in our society will also require efforts that reach beyond the courts. through participation in rallies demonstrations

i have a 1991 dodge ram 50. yes i know it really isnt a dodge! and the transmition started to go out on it. it has the 42rh transmition. i had a transmition from a salvage yard put in and it works good except for a few things that seem strange. 1. i have no over drive now. the old transmition had overdrive and it did work. but now it wont shift into 4th over drive gear. what i think is odd is the switch on my stearing wheel that turns overdrive on and off wont light up the light in the dash showing me if it is on or off. 2. no reverse lights now i am not positive but i do believe that the lights worked before the transmititon was changed. i did check the fuse and the bulbs and they are ok. 3. while it seems to work good the service tech that put it in thought it was odd that he had to adjust the throttal linkage all the way max to get it to shift right he said it kept shifting too fast. when they installed it they did a complete flush and filter replacement. is any of this related is it fixable or do i need to get another new transmition thank you. .

thanks! i dont want to destroy the plants and grass next to the walk so i guess ill be reading labels too roy muratic acid works real well too.. can buy it at hd in the garden section. have a concrete walk that leaves were on and stained. tried to pressure wash but nada. was moving the concrete. gotta be some solution to put down first. gas didnt move it. some accidentally spilled so i figured let it soak but nothing. any thoughtstia roy you can use a concrete etcher/cleaner like found at lowes. i think they have the cleaner alone or the etcher/cleaner like you use before you put down concrete paint. either works well on bare concrete. there are also other cleaners commercially avail but i have no experience with these. the etcher/cleaner i used in the garage before i painted the floor worked extremely well got up the oil dripped from i assume contractors vehicles and the paint is holding well on top of that. i used the h&c products as that was the paint we selected and figured we would stick with the same manufacturer throughout the project. thanks! ill grab some in the morning. roy ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

i honestly dont know but we have only put 4k miles on it in the last 2 years since the dealer flushed it. think changing the filter may help youre treating this as if it were an operating defect it isnt its just a defect in design. start the engine in neutral and you wont have the problem. when was the trannys filter last changed i have a 98 dodge dakota with auto w/overdrive tranny wth 80000 miles. flushed by dealership 5k miles ago. has started to not pull for a couple of seconds immediately after startup if it has been sitting for more than a 3 or 4 days without being started. the engine just revs up and then finally it will start to roll then takes off normally. after it finally takes off all is fine no slippage whatsoever. could it be the torque converter bleeding off or something similar what can i do to fix this problem -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

sounds like your on the right track. your going to be looking for something making the belt track off or not hold proper tension. if the idler is leaning then the belt will track out of correct position and squeal or chirp if the tensioner is locking up then the belt will do the same. simple check grab the belt near the tensioner rh/passenger side of the truck between the alt and crankshaft give the belt a firm pull the tensioner should deflect and quickly return. if you are unable to move the tensioner by pulling on the belt or if you move it but it doesnt readily return then the tensioner is locking up in its pivot and is not keeping correct tension on the belt. also check your power steering pulley it should be pressed onto the power steering pump shaft such that the shaft and end flange of the pulley are flush if they are not then the pulley has walked off the shaft some and could be a cause ive seen this a time or two. hope this is some helpful information. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. i have a 318 dakota with 75k miles that has developed an almost constant chirping sound when stopped in gear or in park at idle. it sounds like maybe a bearing making noise to me. with the engine running and listening to the devices on the serpentine alternator power steering pump compressor etc. using a block of wood the only thing that sounds abnormal to me is a grinding noise in one of the tensioners im not sure of its correct name but its one of the pulleys that guide the serpentine belt. am i going down the right path here or might it be something else if im right what are the implications of not replacing it can it just be lubed thank you for any advice you can give. .

i honestly dont know but we have only put 4k miles on it in the last 2 years since the dealer flushed it. think changing the filter may help when was the trannys filter last changed i have a 98 dodge dakota with auto w/overdrive tranny wth 80000 miles. flushed by dealership 5k miles ago. has started to not pull for a couple of seconds immediately after startup if it has been sitting for more than a 3 or 4 days without being started. the engine just revs up and then finally it will start to roll then takes off normally. after it finally takes off all is fine no slippage whatsoever. could it be the torque converter bleeding off or something similar what can i do to fix this problem -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

i was having problems with my starter click but no start occasionally and read on a website that the contact problem can also cause the starter to be stuck running and something about keeping the fuel pump running. i had the problem a couple times of the starter staying on but after putting the ignition key back to on and running the engine again it would let go after a couple more tries. i was about to install a contact kit but this morning the starter got stuck bigtime and wouldnt let go. i didnt have any tools so i made a run for home about 10 minutes with the starter running. just after i get there i hear the starter let go and the truck will then shut off. outside the truck theres the electrical smell and im thinking the starter is fried. i was correct and the starter even catches on fire. ran for a fire extinguisher but the fire went out on its own. having an electrical contact failure potentially cause a fire that could destroy your vehicle garage house etc makes me think that the design of the system is freaking insane. needing a toolbox with you to shut off the engine wtf i would have thought something like this would be on a safety recall or something. i would like to at least vent about their engineering. anyway does anyone know of a contact number at chrysler for complaints. thanks bill going back to my garage to make sure its not on fire .

btw the artificially stimulated cell is a cloned human cell. the process is similar to what is done to clone plants. human cloning is illegal. a cell that could never develop into a living human... so whats the problem im not advocating the cloning of humans either. i am in favor of a process that produces useful cells for medical research and treatment that doesnt involve killing a viable embryo. whats narrow about it taking a human life generated by the union of human sperm and egg they are living human cells remember at any age or state of development is murder. every specific form of stem cell gathering/harvesting i listed is done without impacting a human life. its your bigotry that puts the blinders on and lets you see nothing but murder when someone talks about stem cells. would you give your children for the sacrifice a fetus zygote glob of tissue generated by the union of a human sperm and human egg is a human being just as everyones child was at one time. if i were married hoo boy... is that a stretch... and my wife were suffering a debilitating illness that could be cured only by the harvesting of stem cells from a purposefully-created zygote id be all for it - no ethical/moral dilemmas no second-guessing. how curious tom that you chose two scientists that have some obvious interest for me that was the point budd... not to insult or offend you though you probably took it as such but simply to bring the point a little closer to home. as you said its no secret as youve discussed it here before. neither vaccine used stem-cells no kidding - it was the 50s. but do you really think either vaccine was developed without a single person dying from the early treatments/experiments how unlike you to attack below the belt. it wasnt an attack budd. i dont know whether or not you benefited from either vaccine but if you did and someone died as part of the human trials well - therein lies the hypocrisy. unlike those that insist that stem cell research is the only option i believe that other research can result in a cure without stem cells. how selfish of you to deny someone a potential cure because its something you dont personally agree with and you feel with all your vast medical research experience and background that theres another approach. probably not in time to save a lot of people that could have been saved but hey - at least we didnt offend anyones sensibilities in the process. .

the oldsmobile diesel v-8 otoh was just a dumb idea that got worse. that was an example of what happens when you try to take a gas motor and make it into a diesel. you gotta build any engine from the crank up to work with the fuel you intend to feed it. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. -- budd cochran john 316-17 ephesians 28-9 romans 323 623 our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. it is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. john adams electrician wrote ford has announced they will offer a diesel option in the f-150 for the 2008 or 2009 model year. all i can say is its about time and what has taken so long. and what are dodge gm toyota and nissan doing about it it seems like a diesel 1/2 ton is long overdue and is a no brainer. i personally want a diesel dakota. what is the purpose of a diesel 1/2 ton people have been buying the diesels because they want the power to tow or haul heavy loads. 1/2 ton trucks dont need more power for the load theyre designed to handle. saving on fuel costs isnt an issue today since in most of the country diesel is priced close to what premium gas is. miles people have bought stuff they dont need for years. a classic example is bottled water. a case can be made however for the economics of a light duty diesel. mike -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .
