its not so much as to which is best for me personally but more of which is the most hassle free and the most stable. mostly i plan on using it to convert all my vhs tapes to dvds on a dedicated machine. i have ample pci slots but i also have 6 usb and 2 firewire ports so i have many options. i dont want to break the bank with this purchase either. i am looking at two from avermedia the dvd ezmaker pci and the dvd ezmaker usb 2.0 hey gang anyone have a capture device in their computer i am looking to buy one and wanted to get an idea of what some of you maybe using and how much success/problems you have had. i am looking at two different ones right now one is a card based and one is usb 2.0 based. any ideas of which would be the better buy id say it depends on how you plan to use it. if you have free pci slots galore and never plan on using it with another computer they id go with an internal pci model. if there is even a remote possibility that you may use this hardware on another machine that also has usb 2.0 ports then id say get the external model. without knowing which models in particular you are looking at its hard to make a more accurate guesstimation of what may be best for you. .

both from what the website says are compatible with my system. the pci is about 50 and usb is about 90 in price. thanks for the info. its not so much as to which is best for me personally but more of which is the most hassle free and the most stable. mostly i plan on using it to convert all my vhs tapes to dvds on a dedicated machine. i have ample pci slots but i also have 6 usb and 2 firewire ports so i have many options. i dont want to break the bank with this purchase either. i am looking at two from avermedia the dvd ezmaker pci and the dvd ezmaker usb 2.0 in that case i would use two other filters for a purchasing decision. 1. price 2. compatibility. if both are equally priced then id get the usb 2.0 version. that way if its not compatible with what you have you can simply unplug it and return it without having to open your case again. .

violation of the warranty terms. this is because at some point the balance of possible incoming revenue vs. real losses to warranty claim fails. yup im so full of it you repeated most of what ive said including repeating verbatim what ive said about warranty responsibility. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan . 222 282101 bcb1cf23.e01%yonzie@mac.com denny wddodge@woh.rr.com wrote nosey kfrei43@removethis.hotmail.com wrote azwiley1 wrote hey gang anyone have a capture device in their computer i am looking to buy one and wanted to get an idea of what some of you maybe using and how much success/problems you have had. i am looking at two different ones right now one is a card based and one is usb 2.0 based. any ideas of which would be the better buy i use a dazzle dvc-80 usb adaptor. it works great but the average 2 hour video takes up about 20 gb of drive space. should get the kind denny has i think its called a hemorrhoid anyhow it takes shitty pictures dale hey dale dont you have some sheep to breed denny i would but you still have those velcro gloves at your place dale .

the good card based ones are just about always better because they do most of the video processing onboard rather than depending on the processor. pretty much like a standard modem kicks the shit out of a winmodem. for a long time was using a hauppauge card and it worked well until this most recent mother board and now i cant get it to configure properly. i replaced it with a leadtek board but the jury is still out on this one. it sets up easily but when put it into tv mode it sucks up a huge amount of processor resources when running with the 2000 operating system. when i had a running copy of me it worked great with that go figure and i have yet to install xp on this machine to test it out. i havent done any capture with it yet as i installed just prior to moving and now just dont have the time to mess with it but the software it comes with looks pretty cool. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hey gang anyone have a capture device in their computer i am looking to buy one and wanted to get an idea of what some of you maybe using and how much success/problems you have had. i am looking at two different ones right now one is a card based and one is usb 2.0 based. any ideas of which would be the better buy .
