on 7 jan 2007 181220 -0800 coh ivan.cohen@sympatico.ca wrote i have a 2000 dakota automatic with 4x4 with front disk and rear drum brakes with rear abs option. the abs and brake warning lights go on together important element and there are no problems with the disk brakes brake fluid rear brakes. everythings been changed/checked includin fluid levels. everything seems to work ok. i beleive the abs is ok too but havent had ice to try it out yet... been too warm here rather odd once its reset it stays off for a while then comes on again usually at speeds over say 30 mph 50km/h anyone have any experience with this or a solution is there anything i should be worried about thanks all. a great forum! ihad/ have the same problem with my 98 dakota. mine is a two wheel drive. individual who did my brakes could not get a code on the computer. i changed the speed sensor in the differential and problem was solved for about six months. now back intermittantly. has not been a problem since cold weather hit. before that was not a problem upon first start in the morning but sometimes after stoppping and starting back up after about an hour. same here brakes work fine no fluid leaks and as far as i can tell the abs is active. i plan to live with it. frank .

i experienced a similar problem with a 2001 dakota quad cab - rainy night headlights parking lights ... all seemed to go on and off. it happened several times then we got to our destination. after about an hour we got back in and drove - problem did not reoccur for 20 minutes then came back. next day problem did not occur - conditions were dry however the day after that i noticed side lights not working instrument backlights not working all but high wiper settings not working power locks except unlock on driver door not working - probably some things i havent noticed also. looking for ideas. thanks bigroblee wrote two nights ago during a heavy downpour if that has any bearing my headlights interior lights fog lights or driving lights the round ones factory installed in the front bumper parking lights the bed light and the power door locks all quit working. turn signals and brake lights still work fine. is there something that all of these connect to that could cause this they all started working briefly again last night for about five minutes and now nothing. please help! -- posted at authors request using http//www.autoboardz.com interface articles individually verified to usenet standards. visit url to contact author/report abuse thread archive http//www.autoboardz.com/02-electrical-problem-help-ftopict201836.html .

budd cochran wrote theyve only asked you to respect theirs if you want them to respect yours. thats the rub no one is respecting my beliefs and all want me to revert back to the way i was. nope aint gonna happen. personally id like to see you back at giving out generally pretty good advice on the older dodges like you used to. your religious conviction isnt really an issue. if you want to throw in some say a short prayer to the lord for low transmission fluid or prepare to shell out some bucks on a new tranny when giving advice to those with a stricken dodge i have no real problem with that. it would just be one of budds posting idiosyncracies. i would think god would want you to be an *effective* promoter of his word. have you thought you might actually be counter productive in furthering gods word there are a couple people on this group that have no real respect for organized religion of any kind and a few more that are outright agnostic or atheist. youve certainly promoted their negative attitudes towards pious religious persons. i can sort of see the good lord at the pearly gates when you eventually step through saying budd was a good man but he unconverted five for every person he converted! theres no doubt some room in heaven for even bumbling saints. your heart was in the right place but your methods stood improvement. smh .
