if america invaded iraq just for oil why iraq and not saudi arabia they have a lot more oil than iraq and the regime there is easily as corrupt and it was saudi nationals that attacked the wtc. perhaps theres more to this war than meets the eye. talking against your country is one thing. posing for pictures with the enemy in their country while americans are being tortured in a prison just a few miles away is very different. point taken but talking and posing with an iraqi person while our troops put lives on the line comes uncomfortably close. at some point these people have to realize that speaking out on that level without giving credit where credit is due is stupid. i have a problem with the reasoning behind this nation being iraq but i also know that my buddy was almost shipped out with the only reservists over there in the thick of it they call themselves the sinners and saints. he got lucky and someone drove a humvee into a ditch and he injured his knee. he was not recalled at the end of his year call up like the rest of those guys. i dont like that the lives of this countrys kids are on the line but something about my friend looking at a tv screen and giving details about every guy he sees is very chilling. im not sure i can support our politicians but i damn sure support our troops and everyone that puts an effort into making sure they stay alive and come home. in the end or in the spot in history that we find ourselves now since its not the end... im glad we got rid of that regime. but new issues arise. while im sure im going to be as divided on the reasoning as i was prior to the invasion i am also glad that at least my choice of president makes a decision and has the right advisors for the job. max we are over there under bullshit reasoning. i would think that most have realized the much discussed wmd dont friggin exist. we are there for one thing oil. human rights is a smoke screen imo there are a bunch of 3rd world countries that are killing thousands a month yet we arent going there. why because it isnt popular and that fruit loop on pa ave hasnt dreamed up scheme to get us involved. for me what she did was over the top agreed roy .

my 1975 dodge 1/2 ton 360 w/ fulltime 4x4 truck has an excessive amount of play in the steering. i tried purging air from the power steering system but that didnt help. obviously this truck has been around for a while and i was wondering if this were a common problem that may be isolated to a specific worn part. do the steering pumps need rebuilding after a while the steering works great and i havent had any problem with the actual function of the power steering. theres just too much loose play in the steering wheel before the wheels actually start turning. the tierods all look ok and i dont think its a problem with the hubs or bearings. thanks in advance for your help! .

forgot to mention......there was also that time i was volunteered to attend a devensive drive course where we also discussed engine braking as a saftey measure. i have read it in a few places and at product knowledege meetings....obviously not as much concern in a diesel. didnt realize you had one. any experienced driver knows engine braking is important to remain in control under most any condition especially in foul weather. as far as trailer brakes most of us know it is best to have em but some people dont care or dont want to spend the money whatever thier reason. they are only a risk to the rest of us right id like to think that the man hauling something heavy say maybe another car or two had trailer brakes but if not at least be smart enough not to use overdrive. my family and i may be in front of him. mark mark elliott wrote we must also point out that pulling that trailer in overdrive on the highway will reduce your engine braking ability. you are not hurting the truck just be carefull and remember that if you want to slow down you may have to brake. this is why manufacturers dont recomend od when hauling it is a safety issue mark on fri 23 jan 2004 035304 gmt chris cchrista@rochester.rr.com wrote if i am pulling it in overdrive on the thruway or wherever going 65mph it feels like i have to almost floor it to get enough to keep a consistent speed sometimes. especially if there are some hills not steep. sometimes i have to punch it to get back to the speed i was kind of if i had cruise control on this is an enclosed trailer around 2000 pounds with sleds.i noticed if i turn the overdrive off it seems much smoother and no problems of course the engine is revving higher. i understand there is a lot of drag with enclosed trailers. but this isnt a lot of weight. when exactly are you supposed to turn the overdrive off i know in the city i should turn it off. can i turn it off at speeds that high will it make gas mileage a lot worse by the way it was very windy today. thanks a lot. we have a 99 ram qc with 5.9/auto/3.55 gears... pulling a 5000 trailer we find that our mileage is best if we just leave od locked out... as you have found it seems to require more gas pedal to maintain speed in od even on flat ground... i dont see this as a power thing as much as a tranny thing... i figure that you may/may not be hurting your truck to tow in od but you know that you cant hurt it by driving with od locked out... where did you hear that at jerry .

wouldnt a 4-barrel of the same size give better off-idle throttle response ken like i said......a 360 intake with the big holley 2-barrel................. its interesting to note that the mopar engines manual recommends using 340-360 manifold on the smaller port 318. i am sure somebody on e bay has a performer for a 318 which has the correct ports for 318 heads. all the bs about using a 360 one is just that bs. any of these posters telling you to do that need to have a predawn visit from you!!!! the ports on the 360 are so much bigger and cause so much reversion youll hate the truck or yourself for doing it that way a nice 600 cfm holley/carter whatever willl work fine ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

hi everyone. i posted this question here a week or 2 ago hi everyone. i hope this is an ok place to ask about a durango. i dont see any durango posts but the durango ng is empty so here goes. i have a 99 durango 4x4 with an automatic transmission. lately i am having some shifting problems with it. it does not seem to know when to shift out of 2nd gear. it would stay there until the engine blew up if i didnt let up on the accelerator. when i do let up on it it usually hesitates for a few seconds and then shifts normally. i have taken it to the dealership and they tried tightening the bands but this didnt help. they seem to be approaching the problem as though i have a slipping issue. it does not slip. once its in the proper gear it is solid as a rock. even in 1st or 2nd gear there is absolutely no slippage. the fluid is nice and red not burnt. there is plenty of fluid and it does not leak. someone suggested that i replace the throttle position sensor to see if that would help but it really didnt. the dealership wants to sell me a new tranny for $5000.00 bucks. not gonna happen. they cant find the problem with it and just want to replace the whole thing. im convinced that there is a simple problem with this tranny since it does not slip and functions normally other than not knowing when to shift. i used to be pretty good at working on cars until they all became computerized and now have no idea where to begin looking to try to solve this one. is this a common problem with these vehicles and does anyone have any advice on what to do about it thanks! robert anyway i just wanted to say thanks to those who responded and tell you about the simple fix that solved the problem. i took it to a local shop. the guy hooked up the diagnostic equipment and found nothing. after that he went under the hood and poked around for a minute or so and said lets check the throttle cable tension and asked me to get in and press the gas pedal to the floor. i did this and he said that he thought it was a little too tight. he made a simple adjustment with his hands no tools required and closed the hood. he said that that should fix the problem. i test drove it and it works perfectly now. he didnt charge me a dime. ill tell you he could have very easily ripped me off and didnt. i have purchased him a $50.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant so that he can take his wife out for dinner. its guys like this that never get a thank you and really deserve one. if you live in nc and need an honest transmission repair try walls transmission in dallas nc. anyway if you have a similar problem to the one i described above try your throttle cable tension. robert .

postal lottery turn $6 into $60000 in 90 days guaranteed i found this in a group and decided to try it. a little while back i was browsing through groups just like you are now and came across a message just like this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00!!! so i thought yeah right this must be a scam!!! but like most of us i was curious so i kept reading. anyway it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and addresses stated in the message. you then place your own name and address at the bottom of the list at #6 and post the message in at least 200 groups. there are thousands to choose from. no catch that was it. so after thinking it over and talking to a few people first. i thought about trying it. i figured what have i got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00 right so i invested the measly $6.00!!! guess what within 7 days i started getting money in the mail!!! i was shocked!!! i figured it would end soon but the money just kept coming in!!! in my first week i had made about $25.00. by the end of the second week i had made a total of over $1000.00!!! in the third week i had over $10000.00 and it is still growing!!! this is now my fourth week and i have made a total of just over $42000.00 and it is still coming in rapidly!!! its certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps!!! i have spent more than that on the lottery!!! let me tell you how this works and most importantly why it works!!! also make sure you print a copy of this message now. so you can get the information off of it as you need it. i promise you that if you follow the directions exactly that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something so easy!!! suggestion read this entire message carefully!!! print it out or download it. follow the simple directions and watch the money come in!!! its easy!!! its legal!!! your investment is only $6.00 plus postage. important this is not a rip-off!!! it is not illegal!!! it is almost entirely risk free and it really works!!! if all of the following instructions are adhered to you will receive extraordinary dividends!!! please note follow these directions exactly and $60000.00 or more can be yours in 20 to 90 days!!! this program remains successful because of the honesty and the integrity of the participants!!! please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. you will now become part of the mail order business. in this business your product is not solid or tangible it is a service. you are in the business of developing mailing lists. many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. however the money made from a mailing list is secondary to the income which is made from people like you and me asking to be included on your mailing list!!! here are the 4 easy steps to success- step 1- get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper. please put me on your mailing list now get 6 u.s. dollar bills and place one inside each of the 6 pieces of paper so the bills will not be seen through the envelopes to prevent mail theft. next place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them you should now have 6 sealed envelopes. each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase your name and address and a $1.00 bill. this is absolutely legal!!! you are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it!!! like most of us i was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspect of it all. so i checked it out with the u.s. postal service and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!!! mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses- t. perce 11505 headley avenue cleveland oh 44111 t. beckers rijksweg 46 6267ah cadier en keer the netherlands j. eddolls 144 pursey drive bradley stoke bristol bs32 8dp united kingdom louis joseph 1933 highway 35 #104 wall nj 07719-3502 s. guitard 55 erskine ave #1202 toronto ontario canada m4p-1y7 charles gallella 201 middlesex st. #311 lowell ma. 01852-2114 step 2- now take the #1 name off the list that you see above move the other names up 6 becomes 5 5 becomes 4 etc. and add your name as number 6 on the list. step 3- change anything you need to but try to keep this message as close to what you see as possible. now post your amended message to at least 200 groups. i think there are close to 24000 groups!!! all you need is 200 but remember the more you post the more money you make!!! this is perfectly legal!! if you have any doubts refer to title18 sec. 1302 & 1341 of the postal lottery laws. keep a copy of these steps for yourself and whenever you need money you can use it again. please remember that this program remains successful because of the honesty and the integrity of the participants and by their carefully adhering to the directions!!! look

i do not agree with you. i have a very large cooler installed on my 3/4 ton dodge that done aftermarket back in 1977. the routing is from cooler through the cooler in radiator then to transmission. this truck has uncountable miles all with this setup using the aforementioned setup towing a 25 trailer or hauling the in bed camper pulling the 17 boat. when i have added a cooler i install the largest one i can fit. then i route the fluid through the auxillary cooler for the cooling effect and then through the radiator tank for the stabilizing effect. that is absolutely one of the dumbest things i have ever heard of why would you even bother to put a cooler in to cool the fluid then route it back through the radiator to heat it back up to put back into the transmission. youre accomplishing absolutely nothing if you want to cool transmission fluid you bypass the radiator completely and use the biggest cooler you can physically fit in the vehicle or 2 smaller ones that equal one big one politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

make money!!! make thousands!!! i found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it i dont care about the useless pre-fabricated crap this message usually says. all i say is it works. continue pre-fab crap. well guess what!!! within seven days i started getting money in the mail!! i was shocked!! i figured it would end soon but the money just kept coming in. in my first week i made about $25.00. by the end of the second week i had made a total of more than $1000.00!! in the third week i had more than $10000.00 and its still growing!! this is now my fourth week and i have made a total of $42000.00 and its still coming rapidly. its certainly worth $6.00 and six stamps and i have spent more than that on the lottery without ever winning!!! let me tell you how this works and most important why it works.......... also make sure you print this out now so you can get the information off of it as you will need it. i promise you that if you follow the directions exactly that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something so easy!! suggestion read this entire message carefully!! print it out or download it follow the simple directions and watch the money come in!! its easy. its legal. and your investment is only $6.00 plus postage !!! important this is not a rip-off it is decent; its legal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!! if all the following instructions are adhered to you will receive extraordinary dividends. please note please follow the directions exactly and $50000 or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days. this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. you will now become apart of the mail order business. you are in the business of developing mailing lists. many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. however the money made from the mailing lists is secondary to income which is made from people like you and me asking to be included in that list. here are the four easy steps to success. step one get six separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper please put me on your mailing list. now get 6 u.s. $1.00 bills and place one inside of each of the six pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. next place one paper in each of the six envelopes and seal them. you now should have six sealed envelopes each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase your name and address and a $1.00 bill. what you are doing is creating a service. this is absolutely legal!!!!! you are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it!! like most of us i was a little skeptical and little worried about the legal aspects of it all. so i checked it out with the u.s. post office 1-800-238-5355 and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!! mail the six envelopes to the following addresses j.j. maxey 355 n. manila ave. fresno ca 93727 usa kyle pate p.o. box 2046 great falls mt 59403-2046 usa g.h.l. 1600 n thorntree rd muncie in 47304-9710 usa g. skillen 32 ebor drive tates avenue belfast bt12 6nr northern ireland m. motut 2377 anora dr. abbotsford bc v2s 5p3 canada t. wallace 8915 e. carlton ave. mesa az 85208-2399 usa step twonow take the #1 name off the list that you see above move the other names up six becomes 5 5 becomes 4 and etc. and add your name as number 6 on the list. step three change anything you need to but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. now post your amended article to at least 200 groups. i think there are close to 24000 groups all you need is 200 but remember the more you post the more money you make!! this is perfectly legal!! if you have any doubts refer to title 18 sec. 1302 & 1341 of the postal lottery laws. keep a copy of these steps for yourself and whenever you need money you can use it again and again. please remember that this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants and by their carefully adhering to directions. look at it this way. if you were of integrity the program will continue and the money that so many others have received will come your way. note you may want to retain every name and address sent to you either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. this verifies that you are truly providing a service. also it might be a good idea to wrap the $1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft. so as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully followed all members will be reimbursed for their participation as a list developer with one dollar each. your name will move up the list geometrically so that when your name reaches the #1 position you will be receiving thousands of dollars in cash!!! what an opportunity f

while true i doubt that it would run for 15 minutes but you could be correct. he did say that he replaced the filter and pump and checked the lines but a restriction at the carb could do it. i forgot what year this vehicle was and was thinking fuel injection my error but i am still thinking that the problem is more likely the ignition. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving im not talking about the screen filter. im talking about the inline filter or even possibly the carb filter if installed and btw with a predominantly clogged filter it would normally run for a few minutes and then shut off. if that happened then how does it run at all. you do realize that the filter is always at the bottom of the tank. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving sounds like your fuel filter. when you ran it dry you picked up the trash in the bottom of the tank and filled the filter. are you sure that it ran dry or did the problem just happen to start when you almost out of fuel good point! -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving these are all great ideas--ill give them a try. nobody thinks it has anything to do with running out of gas problem didnt start until i ran it dry. thanks everyone! corodbaman hi group-- hello! been away for while need some advice... my 82 w150 318 2 bbl 105k miles ran out of gas a while back. filled er with gas changed the fuel filter and went on my way. truck died after running 15 minutes. replaced the fuel pump check the line between the carb and the pump--was clean. truck will fire right up cold but dies still after 15 minutes. let it sit a while starts up dies after 15 minutes. any ideas where to start looking for the problem maybe someone pulled a prank and wired a timer in-line some where! thanks! cordobaman .

redneck tookover hell wrote when i have added a cooler i install the largest one i can fit. then i route the fluid through the auxillary cooler for the cooling effect and then through the radiator tank for the stabilizing effect. that is absolutely one of the dumbest things i have ever heard of there you go again. spouting off with half the information about how smart you are and how dumb everyone else is. in case you missed it the first time around heres the first half of the above quoted post boy thats a can of worms. ill bet you get 20 answers to this one. but heres what ive learned over the years. its important the fluid temp be stable and relativly cool. so you want a cooler that will keep it cool in the worst conditions but not too cool in light use on cold days. stability of fluid temps is important. thats why many racers use a heat exchanger instead of a plate cooler. you dont want your fluid to get too cold if youre driving across montana or new york in january. these new transmissions are designed to operate within a specific range. 200* is just about right as designed. if the fluid temp is greater than 250*f or less than 50*f it wont shift in to od. see the factory service manual page 21-198. also if it is less than 50*f the pcm prevents engagement of the converter clutch. see page 21-213. operation is the same for the 42re and the 46re. for the 45rfe used with the 4.7l engine the computer uses the temp information to control shifts points. the temperature range determines which shift schedule to operate in. 21-529. so if you live in the mojave desert and only use your truck to tow a trailer between june and september then its ok to plumb it the way redneck tells you to. it will never be cold enough to worry about. but i often drive without a trailer at slow speeds in sub zero temps so i would never do it that way. and i dont believe the factory does it that way either. if you really want to keep the trans fluid out of the radiator and theres some value in that then use a bypass thermostat set at about 100*-150* -- ..bob 97 h-d fxdwg - turbocharged!! 01 dakota quad sport 5.9/auto/4x4 83 gmc jimmy beater 66 427sc cobra replica - project 66 mustang coupe - daily driver -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

like i said......a 360 intake with the big holley 2-barrel................. its interesting to note that the mopar engines manual recommends using 340-360 manifold on the smaller port 318. i am sure somebody on e bay has a performer for a 318 which has the correct ports for 318 heads. all the bs about using a 360 one is just that bs. any of these posters telling you to do that need to have a predawn visit from you!!!! the ports on the 360 are so much bigger and cause so much reversion youll hate the truck or yourself for doing it that way a nice 600 cfm holley/carter whatever willl work fine ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .

many thanks to everyone that replied. im replacing a 92 w250 360 nv4500 4.10 axles. i get right at 12 on the highway empty about 10 towing my race car and trailer. i was hoping for better mileage with the v10. your are gaining 128 cubic inches and about 100 foot-pounds of torque with the v-10 for pretty much the same mileage and there is the smile factor when you push that gas pedal. paul johnson .

mark elliott wrote i have read it in a few places and at product knowledege meetings....obviously not as much concern in a diesel. didnt realize you had one. any experienced driver knows engine braking is important to remain in control under most any condition especially in foul weather. as far as trailer brakes most of us know it is best to have em but some people dont care or dont want to spend the money whatever thier reason. they are only a risk to the rest of us right id like to think that the man hauling something heavy say maybe another car or two had trailer brakes but if not at least be smart enough not to use overdrive. my family and i may be in front of him. without question engine braking and knowing when to use it is very beneficial. the point was that is not the reason as far as i know that the manufacture recommends turning off overdrive when towing. if and when i ever set my truck up for 5th wheel towing the first thing i will do is to install a exhaust brake. jerry .

check those serial numbers and make sure that they all match. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving from roy roy@home.net date 1/30/2004 915 am central standard time robert ive bought a bunch of cars interstate mostly corvettes but never sight unseen. also never would think about a deal without being very sure that the seller has their shit together. sounds to me that it is being driven by emotion and not common sense. there has to be a truck that would satisfy your needs closer and within your financial means. you aked for advice and whatever. here it is run dont walk away from this deal. it is too fucked up. if it was in your hometown it would be a pia. hey roy and everybody else im still a bit leary but the biggest obstacle is taken care of now. the seller called me about 30 minutes ago he says he now has clear title. i dont know what kind of hoops he had to jump through to accomplish this dont really care he had to do it anyway to sell it. im under no real obligation to buy the truck as you say i havent seen it yet. but i will tomorrow by this time. only after ive inspected it thorougly will i go ahead with this deal. i expect now that ill leave portland on monday or tuesday to drive home im looking forward to that as i love to drive and ive never been there before. i expect the trip to take three days yeah i know if i was younger two days barring weather or truck problems. when this deal is done ill post a link to the truck and explain a little about why im so enamored with this particular truck. then you guys can really give me the business - see ya next week! robert .
