yes my aunt owns the dealership so i get special treatment and i sitll think the serivce department coudl do alot better. but the fact is they post said it they are generally overwhelmed. sure they have a ecent sized staff but truthfully they leave the complicated stuff to a few techs and let most fo them do basic maintenance and inspections and such. the heavy duty work will take longer. where on earth did you find a lot of defending of service departments in this group perty much everybody realizes the places are seriously ethically challenged scumbag plagued overwhelmingly incompetent utterly disinterested in your problems and generally run by total ass*oles. on mon 21 jul 2003 182432 -0700 hodad hd@juno.com wrote i smell a troll. sounds like total bullshit to me. hd i am puzzled by all the defense of dealerships and service departments. i have a 2003 dakota quad-cab that this past wednesday 7-16-2003 lost all power and the check engine light mil came on. i called the dealership a five star center whatever the hell that means and they couldnt be bothered. sorry but we are all booked up. mr. jones has to have his oil changed and the fact that your brand new truck just died means nothing to us. he suggested another dealership. so i said thank you very little and called another dealership. my truck has been sitting in the same spot now since wednesday and everytime i call to inquire i get... geez augh uhmm let me call you back and surprise no one calls me back... now there is five star service for you...same old dodge same ole crappy service. hasnt changed since i bought a lemon dodge in 86. .

i would not use grade 8 or stainless bolts. because grade 8 bolts are harder they do not like to be subjected to side load such as you get in the contraction and expansion of exhaust manifolds. and if you happen to snap one off when you remove the exhaust manifolds next time you will really have a problem trying to drill out the grade 8 bolt coat the threads of whatever bolts you use with anti seize before installation so does that me i can use standard grade 8 bolts and or stainless i though they needed a special thread like stove bolts. .

and exactly how much money do you think you are going to save by buying a used intake and then having someone modify it to have an egr or i suppose you think with a 4 inch grinder your dremel and a 1/2 inch drill you are all set to start modifying just buy the correct new intake and be done with it has anyone heard of or accomplished modifying an edelbrock 2176 manifold to accept an egr valve versus buying the 3776 with egr .

i need professional help on the 99 ds obd2 system. last week i started the d 57327 miles and the check engine light came on and didnt go off. i took it to autozone and they said there were no codes so i took it over to my neighbors garage and he put the snap- on scanner on it with the proper adapter. he can communicate with only the body function computer it shows a bus failure for a module assumed to be the engine and/or transmission computer. i have extended warranty but do not trust my dodge dealer. my neighbor asked me to ask you guys if there are any tsbs or common problems that might throw up this symptom. obviously there are no codes since there is no communication to the engine computer. the d runs fine with no noticeable differences. other than the check engine light. i doubt that the light will go out if i disconnect the battery and i dont think i want to do that because i dont want the base parameters in it rather than the last known good parameters. any dodge service masters here that can give some help please do. i may end up having to take the vehicle out of town for a 5 star dealer then hope its covered by warranty. what might it be if it isnt covered is the computer covered im hoping i might not be chasing a bad plug forever like my last vehicle. thanks in advance. corvairdan corvair at prontomail dot com -- j. dan jones iii virginia peninsula car club council vintage chevrolet club of america #41139 corvair society of america tidewater corvair club steel city classics .

not entirely sure what you mean by economy of scale here but... yes if they are willing to pay for it i buy premium parts. even those can be defective though and if that happens i am there to support the system. for example a video card unceremoniously died a week after the system was built. i was out there within an hour its a half-hour drive out to the sticks with a new card that i purchased and had the system fixed. that just dont happen with dell/compaq/hp/etc. so yes because ive only a couple computers to support i can offer very good support. yes the manifold gasket did last a long time and yes i do engine-brake with the manual trans. i will try to stop doing that. neil said as for you and the computers you build in particular it appears that you occasionally build computers for pay. i think under those conditions economy of scale has to be considered or else you build the abrahms tank version of computers that sell at a much higher premium and are considerably more bullet proof than what is usually commercially available. adam root@localhost wrote .

did you have a barrier set up so greenpeace was kept at a safe distance ill let him answer that one when he gets home. notice how somebody is evading the greenpeace issue i wonder why that would be bg well chubs answer the man!g chubs one of us is clearly the most deserving of this title. i wonder who that may be funny though i never gave a thought to people never seeing the ocean before. his daughter first time. seas were real calm which can be very misleading. none of them are swimmers so i left him with the rule no deeper that your knees. shit can and does happen real fast. and that was a good suggestion and followed to the t. we walked up and down the beach got our feet wet got a few shells and took a bunch of pictures. the biggest disappointment was that we could not see the sunrise either morning that we was there. dammed overcast!! ya gotta look to the east!! no problem!! i looked to the east and saw white fluffy stuff with water falling from it!! denny roy denny .

thanks t yep i meant dc. are they saying what the cause of the pinging is or why folks are losing power with the fix scout what is cd or do you mean dc there is a flash that can correct this problem but many have complained of a significant power loss after it was done. make sure that the intake manifold gasket has not failed as that can also cause this problem. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving does anyone know if cd has resolved the pinging problem in the 5.9l ram 2500 my 1998 truck pings if the road even looks like it goes uphill. i dont want to take it to the dealer without the lasted on the problem. i see others have returned trucks because of it i would prefer to get it fixed if that is possible. its not just the noise the truck seems to have less pulling power when this happens. or is cd just ignoring the problem thanks in advance. scout .

hey i ducked them as best i could. roy and a fine job at that! btw why does amtrak put that fake engine on the end of the train. i saw a couple go by before we headed out and every train was like that. denny that train is operated as a push/pull. the fake or dummy is a controlling unit. the cab has everything that a normal loco would have air brake controls cab signal horn whistle. it is not capable of self propulsion as the engine and everything behind the cab has been removed. the idea is that the train does not have to be turned around at the end of each trip the night we saw it it was being pushed towards boston as the dummy was leading or controlling. roy .

adam root@localhost wrote not entirely sure what you mean by economy of scale here but... simple you have a few computers to support chrysler has millions of vehicles to support. if you had millions of computers to support you probably wouldnt be offering the guarantees and warrantys that you do now. dell doesnt ibm doesnt hell even panasonic doesnt. yes if they are willing to pay for it i buy premium parts. even those can be defective though and if that happens i am there to support the system. for example a video card unceremoniously died a week after the system was built. i was out there within an hour its a half-hour drive out to the sticks with a new card that i purchased and had the system fixed. that just dont happen with dell/compaq/hp/etc. so yes because ive only a couple computers to support i can offer very good support. economy of scale. yes the manifold gasket did last a long time and yes i do engine-brake with the manual trans. i will try to stop doing that. brakes are for stopping clutches are for starting. unless you like replacing parts needlessly. .

just had about 960sq.feet of tile installed. now comes the clean up. what i have to remove is the dust like film that is left behind after the grout. the tile is porcliain if it matters.also the grout is hard and ready for sealing. messed around with a sponge and a couple of buckets of water theres gotta be a quicker way. any thoughts on how to shorten what looks to be a real long job. roy get a bigger sponge!! bg seriously tho after putting in tile in the kitchen and bathrooms that is about the only way to do it. keep the water in the bucket clean keep rinsing out the sponge and go over it a couple of times. when it gets down to just a haze a good dustmop will finish it. denny thats what i figured. have a bunch of work to do. how was the trip home did you go 90. i put on 300 mile round trip 25mpg. not too shabby for the toy. roy .
