i really dont have time to respond to this but i am amazed that you work in the industry; and naive to a lot of things. namely basic economics. oh come on. this isnt nearly as much fun as i thought it would be. i expected at least a few more responses. especially since i admitted i work for an independent oil company. as for the facts...the price of oil adjusted to inflation by comparing it to the consumer price index cpi shows that the price of oil peeked in 1979 followed by a decline until 1999 after which it closely follows the cpi and is actually less expensive than in 1974 as shown at this link http//inflationdata.com/inflation/inflationrate/historicaloilpriceschart.asp i admit that gasoline heating oil diesel etc are part of the cpi so its kind of like comparing the price of apples to the price of apples plumes apricots lemons and oranges. . the price of gasoline for the last 12 months follows the price of oil as shown by this link http//www.oilnergy.com/1combo.htm repeat of an earlier post of mine. if you want to know who the members of opec are you can find them at http//www.opec.org/aboutus i dont know who ws buddys are but ill bet venezuela isnt one of them. .

azwiley1 wrote azwiley1 wrote i run the sylvania silver star bulbs in my truck and have never had a complaint. fyi white or blue light is brighter then yellow. check out sylvanias web site. its an illusion white or blue doesnt mean brighter. i had sylvania silverstar bulbs for a while too. first i was impressed by the whiteness compared to standard bulbs later by the *extremely* short life. junk! well i can tell you from driving cross country repeatedly that when i put the silverstars in my truck i had better clearity and illumination at night in areas where there was little to no light. as for longevity i just replaced them after having been in there for 4 years. but whatever to each his own. my first silver star burnout came after just one year and i hardly used them. there used to be a chart somewhere i think on sylvanias own site that listed life expectancy of their various bulbs. the silver stars hours were much less than xtravision or any of the other bulbs. .
