From : budd cochran

Q: my son in jacksonville fl is having problems with the 95 lebaron he bought 3.0 auto convert. it started running rough stalling in gear poor idle quality and the like so he checked the trouble code and got a bad map sensor code. he replaced the map sensor and it ran fine for a few days and then started acting up again same code bad map sensor he checked the connections and cleared the code with a battery disconnect now he gets a recent battery disconnect code and it still runs as before the sensor replacement. any thoughts on what to check replace or adjust with a bfh i can contact him by email but he doesnt have access to groups on base. tia. -- budd cochran in tribute to the united states of america and the state of israel two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife and terrorism. ------ .

well shuckie-durn mike. i guess this old vintage flatulencier aint so dumb after all. vbg thanks for replying. i thought of that because of the climate jacksonville fl coastal salt air and suggested he use a can of color tv tuner cleaner from radio shack to clean all the terminals to the computer and sensors and then fill the cavities with vaseline to seal out moisture where he can and clean every ground connection with sandpaper and seal with a dab of vaseline. years ago while i was working in a gm dealership in the wash / detailing bays a new camaro kept coming in every week or so with computer probs. on a wild guess i suggested to the shop foreman to check the ground connections. the next time it came in instead of replacing the computer he checked the grounds. then he bought me lunch. -- budd cochran in tribute to the united states of america and the state of israel two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife and terrorism. ------ budd have him the check the integrity of the connection at both the map sensor and the pcm. he should look for any signs of corrosion and/or a loose connection. this would be my first guess. mike .

lol it sounds kinky but if you have a boat trailer or live in a damp climate it can make all the difference in the world. -- budd cochran in tribute to the united states of america and the state of israel two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife and terrorism. ------ says... durn high tech stuff . . . ol vaseline wuz good fer all kind uh stuff wa-a-a-ay back when. kinda reminds me of the name of some stuff i done bought me at the advance auto parts store. bulb grease. sounded kinky. chas .

says... thanks for the advice but this was a little bit beyond that point. the bulbs had actually melted the plastic of the reflectors to split them open. water was just pouring in. took me a while to figure out what was going on. the lenses were in such bad shape that they needed replacing anyway. cahs next time try a little clear fingernail polish around the edges of the lens where it meets the gasket. also seals many windshield leaks on non-glued in windshields. -- budd cochran in tribute to the united states of america and the state of israel two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife and terrorism. ------ says... lol it sounds kinky but if you have a boat trailer or live in a damp climate it can make all the difference in the world. -- budd cochran yeah i was having a leaking problem with one of the lights on my caravan and i was going through a bulb a week. that worked out well for me until the new lamp assemblies came in the mail. chas .
