OT? Chevy question

Q: tom i know it isnt much but it is all i had at the moment. it is my vehicle and it died friday while negotiating a traffic circle at low speed. when i glanced at my fuel feed pressure guage on the pillar it was at 0. there was no check engine light. turning the key on and off did not cycle the pump as usual. no engine light. it did start after two tries and ran but still no pressure on the guage and no engine light . i drove 3 miles to the dealer at low speed without difficulties and no engine light. phone call today from the dealer stated the error code from his drb3. thats all i know and thats not much but im not there. it is the stock pump and there is 34k miles on the truck. never did install the fas. steve what is your best guess as the cause for a low voltage fault for the fuel lift pump thats all i know at the moment. well besides the obvious smart-assed answer i really need a little more to go on. is this on your vehicle was it a stored code any drivability issues stock lift pump .

i had a similar situation. i wanted an 06 dodge 4x4 cummins manual transmission and found 4 at 3 different dealerships within a reasonable range from my house. i showed up at the dealer which had 2 on saturday with the vins both were still in stock and we started to talk about the one i prefered with the understanding that i wasnt going to buy that day because i wanted to check out the other 2 dealers but i would decide before noon sunday. i also told them i didnt expect them to hold it for me but if we reached an agreement saturday and it was still available sunday i expected them to honor that agreement. when the sales manager realized i meant what i said he treated me so rudely that i got up shook the hand of the salesman i had been talking to and i walked out without even looking at the sales manager. a week later i started to get e-mails from sales22@dealershipname.com telling me about all the great deals they had. i replied to the first 2 e-mails asking to be removed from their e-mail list. when i received the 3rd e-mail i forwarded it to sales@... sale1@... through sales30@... with the date and time i had visited the dealership who i had talked to which truck i was looking at according to their website they still had that truck in their inventory and that because of the sales managers attitude i would never do business wi

on impulse i purchased an 01 cummins dodge yesterday http//img356.imageshack.us/img356/9687/01jpghq6.jpg because the price was just to good to walk away from. before putting it into service i had my local dealer run it through the oasis system and apparently its still running on its original lift pump and high pressure oil pump. should i replace the lift pump now just on principle or should i continue to run it at the risk of taking out the high pressure oil pump if i need to replace it what better options are available than oem thanks -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911talk.com http//hipowertalk.com http//glockcarry.com http//p99sw99.com http//ppstalk.com http//p7talk.com .

having looked at what fords have to offer im back to wanting a mega cab dodge and i dont mind travelling to another dealer. i removed the 5th wheel hitch from my 05 but as i understand it there is a different hitch for a short bed its a 2007 reese 20000# 5th wheel. will it work on an 08 shortbed with different rails how difficult is it to tow a 5th wheel camper with a short bed thanks -- nathan in montana the different hitch would be a slider. it is used to slide back the hitch when you need to do tight turning. if you didnt you take the chance of smacking the back corner of your cab with the front corner of your 5th long before you would if you did slide it back or have a long bed. as far as towing forward at speed im not sure there is any difference as long as you had the slider forward. if you didnt put in the slider and just used your regular hitch you have to really watch those tight turns especially when backing. fmb north mexico ** posted from http//www.tera.com ** .

the other day i noticed no more cool air the compressor clutch was not engaging at all. i purchased a refill system from walmart. i filled with refrigerant to proper gauge level now the compressor clutch engages for about 3 seconds and stops but still not cooling. when clutch is not engaged i nopticed pressure gauge is just at the top end of filled level but drops to no fill area when it engages. what are other possibilities causes the clutch to engauge for 3 seconds and stop if the refrigerant is normal level maybe the inline dispenser hose gauge is reading wrong and refrigerant is still too low thanks .

hey all i just picked up an 84 w150 with 360k miles on it. she needs a carb rebuild but other than that she is in great shape. there is almost no rust on it. just 3 or 4 surface spots. i do need to bang out the bed since my buddy who owned it before me was hauling boulders and it beat the crap out of the inside. i am going to tackle the wheel wells with a sledge hammer but i am not sure how to get the front of the bed bent back into the shape. it is bowed towards the cab. the top rail is still pretty square just bent. any ideas on how to pull that back in. if i can get that taken care of i can put on a new tail gate and spray a bed liner in and be good to go. another question. since she is in such good shape i have decided to restore her. i figure i can do that for 1/2 the cost of a new pickup and not be quite so worried about throwing stuff in the back. any suggestions on finding parts like dash trim. i have been searching the net and have not found any of those. i can get body parts all over just not the little stuff. thanks for any help you can give me. 360k .

times what a fass would cost you theyre going to change you over to the in-tank pump. now the good about that is it retains your stock fuel filter/fuel heater and makes the installation of an aftermarket pump that much easier since youll already have the bulkhead fitting on the fuel filter canister in place of the old stock lift pump that used to be bolted there. .

i know it isnt much but it is all i had at the moment. it is my vehicle and it died friday while negotiating a traffic circle at low speed. okay. well i think you know the answer here... your lift pumps dead... probably burned out the motor. the cp3 is capable of sucking its own fuel as it does in the duramax application but that lift pumps a big ol restriction so im surprised it even ran at all. fortunately the cp3s a whole lot tougher than the vp44 so im sure its fine. youre just going to need a new lift pump which should hopefully be covered under warranty unless they try and duck out of a legitimate warranty repair because of the aftermarket stuff youve got. and if they do the repair either under warranty or not - but i would strongly recommend doing it yourself if they wont warranty it and you dont feel like fighting them for it - theyll wind up charging you 2-3 times what a fass would cost you theyre going to change you over to the in-tank pump. now the good about that is it retains your stock fuel filter/fuel heater and makes the installation of an aftermarket pump that much easier since youll already have the bulkhead fitting on the fuel filter canister in place of the old stock lift pump that used to be bolted there. . 222 343830 aldnj.1692$tg6.911@big1.bellsouth.net id bet money on the egr valve being clogged open....had it happen and the symptoms were identical to yours!! 1999 dodge ram 318 will not idle. if i keep rpms above about 1000 it runs fine. below that and the engine dies. any thoughts thanks . 222 343829 zkdnj.1691$tg6.1381@big1.bellsouth.net cant imagine it would be too hard since the v8 was an option.....youd probably need the ecm from the v8 as well. someone else will have to speak to wether or not you could use the same auto tranny. still havent fixed this truck. it came with a 3.9 v6 that died at 200000 more or less miles. how difficult would it be to put a v8 in it thanks ken .
