OT- Aussie Gun control

Q: hhmm...and where do we think the big oil companies will get those fees etc refunded from us...the consumer as a result of even higher fuel prices. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi ----cool toys formerly carolina watercraft works ----mack daddy trailers ----ice angels i just heard on the that the price of oil has fallen 35% since july! i really havent tracked it all that well but it doesnt seem to me that the price at the pumps have fallen 35%. now keep in mind that the oil companies were awfully quick to raise the price at the pumps--a few times when the price of a barrel of oil went up the pump price went up that same day in response even though the price of the gas you were buying wasnt included in the per barrel jump. now if bush wants to know what to do to get his ratings back...........well for my part he could kick the big oil companies ass a little. that would make me like him a whole lot more! he will not betray his owners especially when he will out of office soon and wants that money. never fear pelosi to the rescue! this will help lower gas prices! http//.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070117/apongoco/congress100hours energy legislation that imposes billions in fees taxes and royalties on oil and gas companies and uses the money to promote renewable fuels. .

two subjects!! curious after reading the gun control thread. how many of you are legally licensed to carry a concealed hand gun not to transport but to carry concealed it anywhere the law allows. not yet but i am going to apply for it soon. i should not have any issue getting the license either. on yet another side note in kennesaw ga they require every household to own a gun and have ammo for it. and guess what......crime has dropped since the law went into effect. see............ http//www.boogieonline.com/revolution/firearms/laws/us/require.html quoted text if gun-owning is so dangerous and such a cause of social ills then surely the most dangerous place in america -- if not the entire planet -- must be kennesaw georgia where since 1982 a law has required every household to have a firearm and ammunition. conscientious objectors are excluded. right wrong. there has not been a single reported crime of domestic violence in kennesaw since the law was passed. there have been no injuries to children involving guns since the law was passed. furthermore violence has actually dropped since 1982. burglaries per thousand inhabitants fell from 11 to less than 3. there hasnt been a single murder since 1986. all this despite the fact that the population in kennesaw doubled in that time. could it be -- gasp! -- that gun ownership might have positive not negative effects that the whole premise behind gun banning is totally wrong that other factors besides guns might be the real cause of fulton countys crime problems end -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

tbone wrote as for the democrats restrictions what a load of crap. they will not build more because that would cause the price to drop and they know it. your political bias is showing again. in 6 states oil companies have had requests to build refineries for years. in arizona after 14 years they finally got the approval to build one of the 3 requested. this one will probably be completed in about 6-8 years. its the only one approved in the entire nation. .

dirk was on the west coast when he got the call. an old friend at the toronto police department thought he would like to fly up and take a look at a homicide which had occurred the previous evening. he decided to skip the last day at the world holistics conference and take the next plane out of san francisco. the flight was bad; dirk had been hit on the back of the head by the paper trolley the drinks trolley the dinner trolley and now the gift trolley. when the hostesses werent trying to tear his arm off they pestered him to stop leaning into the aisle - ignoring the fact that the guy next to him was taking up one and a half seats. air canada used to be the flight which was so good you just didnt wanna get off - on this occasion dirk would be glad to see the back of the plane and the over sized alternative comedian wedged into the window seat. after breathing in a couple of lungfulls of crisp canadian air dirk took a taxi into town. there was a small group of demonstrators outside the macdonalds and the taxi driver insisted on stopping on the opposite side of the street. dont eat meat the placards read and the demonstrators chanted. a couple of policemen where stopping the crowd entering the restaurant itself - one held up his arm and challenged dirk. a wave of the fax he had been sent and the policeman pushed open the door. there were f

i hope w does something to keep the price of california produce under contol because of the freeze they supposedly suffered... shees the president no more controls the weather than he controls the price of oil. lol wrong and we are talking about the price of gasoline which he can have influence over especially with the drastic drop in oil prices. have you forgotten about the organization of petroleum exporting countries opec from whom we import most of the oil we use on a daily basis when ever the price of oil drops opec reduces production in order to artificially drive the price up. possibly but it hasnt happened yet and the price of oil is very low and yet the price of gas has not moved all that much to the down side. i heard today that they are planning to do just that because crude oil has hit $51/barrel. im sure that they are as they dont want to give away their only resource but it still hasnt happened yet. oh lets not forget that not a single new refinery has been built in the us since the 70s and the formulations required by the epa and various states has become more complex hence more expensive to produce yet the evil oil companies have been able to increase the amount of refined products in the pipelines. damn right they have with the outrageous profits they are making from it. no new refineries have been built by the oil companies choice as increased availability results in lower prices. also china is the largest growing ecomony on the planet and their thirst is insatiable. bullshit. hell they tried to buy unical! luckily chevron saved our oil consuming interests. i wish all you liberal finger pointers could live in the world you create and let us realistic people live in ours but unfortunately our worlds are the same. lol get real. do you work for the oil companies the facts remain that if anything happens or even the risk of something happening the prices shoot up that second but when the risks subside the price never returns back to where it was and takes forever to come down much at all. why is that mr. real world why dont you demand energy price control that may keep the price of energy down but there will be so little of it only the privilaged few - politicians most likely - will be able to buy it. more complete crap. as long as they are making a profit they will continue to sell it despite your lame fear tactics. now that ive had my rant you may respond as best as you may and i will do my best to educate you. i think that you need to do some learning yourself. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

most serious shooters dont comment on that kind of thing on an open forum. the political wind is in the wrong corner. curious where do you see the problem if it is legal. i know two serious shooter who have already commented. hey roy is it you that has the ar myself and a couple of others. just curious as to what prompted you to buy one a bunch of people i work with were on me to join a club and go shooting with them. they all hunt and have rifles i didnt. so i read a bit listened to them some one of them had one and let me use it. after about 5 rounds it all sort of came rushing back. not sure if that is good or bad.g anyway i was real comfortable with it i know it real well also it is short money to buy ammo for. i went with the bushmaster it will fire a .223 or 5.56 round. i added a scope and a bi-pod to it to sorta reach out a bit. look here www.bushmaster.com i had given it some thought but never really cared for the m-16s when i was in. i wasnt overly thrilled with them years ago. i had one of the early ones jam about got me killed. now there isnt that problem either way. ive put well over 4k rounds through mine without any trouble. .

occur to anyone that the real goal of gun control might not be about reducing crime thats well known i believe. governments get afraid when the populace can resist. unfortunately the american sheeple wouldnt resist but they dont want to take that chance. libs need victims to feed their coffers and eliminating lawful gun owners increases vicitm counts therefore increasing their span of control. .
