Q: ive used rain-x for years and i think the stuff is great. put it on when the temps are above approx 60 degrees walk away from it for at least a couple of hours and then wipe it off with a micro fibre towel. i dont notice the glare the other poster is talking about and its much easier to see thru when its raining. denny yup agree wabbit! rain-x is the best thing since heated leather seats! mike mike use the low heat setting for awhile your brain is getting overheated.... bg denny hey rabbit!!! your email working or what sent you a few and responded to your last and nothing back. noticed it around 12/25. roy ive been getting all the usual spam and viagra garbage on a regular basis. ill send ya something in a little bit. denny .

per budd cochran mr-d150@preciscom spam.net no one has ever caused an accident by driving defensively that i know of instead of aggressively. besides it lowers blood pressure reduces stress and prevents road rage. i think that for some people driving is analogous to boxing. i find it more enjoyable when its like dancing. -- petecresswell .

i had a 02 dakota with a 45rfe 4 speed and now a 05 ram with the 545rfe 5 speed and no problems. go ahead and get the hemi you will only get about 1 mpg better with the 4.7l. also make sure when you service your new trucks transmission that you only use atf + 4 transmission fluid from dodge/mopar. tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net says... does anyone have knowledge of the current reliability of the transmissions being built today. problems were had with the early 46re and 47re models due to a combination of inadequate lube flowing to the od unit especially at lower rpms and lack of maintenance. the truck youre now looking at uses a completely-redesigned transmission the 545rfe. this transmission has been produced for several years now and very few problems there will always be some - its inevitable have been reported. i agree with the above i have one and know several people that have 2003s to 2006 rams and none have had any trans problems. cant say the same for my neighbors 2 2005 f150s that puked out on two trucks the second was a lemon law replacement 3 times with no warning except for the last time when reverse took several minutes to engage and it totally blew the next morning when he attempted to drive it to the dealer. he said goodbye ford and has a cummins 2500 ram on order... my one friend had a windstar that ate an amazing number of trannys in 36k. it was a lease and was he glad to see it go away.. bdk .

how often has the fluid been changed how about the filter od will come off if the tranny is getting hot. andy wrote the trans works fine and the fluid is not burnt. i have a generic scaner and i will keep it in the car till it happens again. where is the temp sensor .
From : tom lawrence
the o/d off light will come on the truck comes out of od and will not go back into overdrive. turn vehicle off and restart it will act normal. it may be fine for a few days then it does it again. any ideas andy could be a faulty temperature sensor in the transmission. the pcm will lock out od if it thinks the fluid is too hot. the only way to know for sure is to hook a drb3 dealer scan tool and see what temperature the sensor is reporting. if its the sensor replacement is simple enough but you should make sure thats whats wrong before just replacing it. the pcm may also set an obd-ii code for trans temp. which could be picked up by any generic obd-ii scan tool. i take it theres no drivability problems with the transmission no slipping or anything else that might actually cause the trans fluid to overheat a non-contact ir thermometer pointed at the transmission pan could verify the fluid temp - if its under 140f or so everythings fine. .

max dodge wrote sno brain sez it will bolt in but i would not use it as the 440 has a lot more torque. try and find a old 727 out of a full size car that had a 440 in it to begin with because they were built a bit heavier and they had a different converter too than the one used on smaller engines. not to mention the fact that a 360 has a different bellhousing pattern than a 440. so no it will not bolt in. not so sure about that -- ----------------- www.thesnoman.com .

i got talking to one of my co-workers today and he had an idea of a ball-joint going bad. he got a hold of a mechanic at a dodge garage somewhere and he said they can be noted for it. i raised the front end of the truck up so the tires where 3 inches off the ground. i put a bar underneath each tire and lifted up on it. all i could feel was maybe a eighth of an inch of play up and down. there was no play side to side. both upper ball-joints are greasable and ive always greased them. they came like that from the factory where the truck was built. this same guy has a gmc extended cab...and thought of the idea of a ball joint when he was replacing a abs sensor. he lifted the truck up not knowing a ball joint was bad and the tire dropped down. luckily thats where it happened. maybe this gives you a new idea to think about tom thanks for the help so far. .

lol ; btw tom check out this link . . . http//.zdnet.com/2100-100922-6024695.html im glad ive always used my name. what do you think of it lol i think that you already know what i think of that bs. so much for that smaller government and personal freedoms that he lied about. you didnt read the whole story did you arlan specter r the spectre !!! was involved in inserting the wording into a bill that had to pass. i figure the libs will raise a question of constitutionality on it somehow. i did read the entire story but he still signed it. you would be right about the libs or anyone with an iq over 5 raising a question over such an ignorant piece of legislation. the funny part is the libs will use that very same smaller government argument most likely and yet theyve never actually tried to reduce the size of government. charles budd cochran we know who you are. no need to get paranoid. im not but are you i dont use a screen name. if you dont hide anything you dont have to worry about it being discovered and then trying to defend yourself. yea i guess the right of privacy doesnt mean much anymore right budd. so much for personal liberties in our new world of fear and paranoia. my personal liberties havent been abridged by it but those seeking to harrass and cyberstalk have had theirs curtailed sharply. unfortunately innocent parties are also caught up in it as a simple enthusiastic discussion might violate the law. did you consider the possibility that i asked you because i know your reaction to your name being given out and actually wanted a simple honest input for the group with the type of people that can be found on usenet there is no wonder why so many dont use their real names and most that do only use their first name. i used to use my real name until it was hijacked by some lowlife scumbag and then i learned not to do that. most of your friends in this group also dont use their real or full names in here and probably for similar reasons. who maxdodge / max340 hes posted his name before. sandman nate no longer goes by his screen name. and its the same with several others. i used mr-d150 for a short time because i had it in the name shown line of o.e. but that was the only reason. it wasnt any fear of id theft. i think some of the others go by screen names just for the fun of it or because the name used to be their cb handle. heck mine was boogieman. if i threw in my old call sign you could track me thru the fcc probably. the point is tom if youve used your name and s.s.# for identification on anything license or such then your info can be found out. its too late to be paranoid. most id theft comes from credit cards check stubs lost drivers licenses and the like. budd . 222 310384 sfuwf.6207$%w1.3951@read2..atl.earthlink.net you need to be a little more clear on how the new battery died. you did give a mileage but in relation to what did you put it in and drive right away and it died or did you put it in and drove that far and the next day it was dead or did you put it in and a few days later took that drive and it died after 100km sucks when people dont give you all the information doesnt it .

im stumped... ive taken out my alternator and had it tested - its fine. ive replaced my battery which was old and apparently only at 45% - so the new one should be fine... but the new battery saturday has drained and ive only done like 100km 60 miles. it seems like the alternator isnt charging the battery while im driving. is my fan belt loose i didnt see where i could tighten the bloody thing. heres some work that has been done on it since december 1. replaced heater core. 2. new ball joints. 3. fixed left light wires - my high beam was out but it wasnt the light itself - some wires were corroded. ive cleaned all of the leads in/around the battery so theyre clean. can anyone help you need to be a little more clear on how the new battery died. you did give a mileage but in relation to what did you put it in and drive right away and it died or did you put it in and drove that far and the next day it was dead or did you put it in and a few days later took that drive and it died after 100km you did mention a wiring problem due to corrosion and you could have a similar one on the charging side. do you have a volt meter if not i would suggest you get one as the low cost one are quite cheap anymore. if you have one check for voltage with the battery connected on the alternator output terminal engine not running. you should be getting battery voltage here and if not then you have a failed cable or blown fusible link. if you have voltage here start the truck and measure it again. it should now be higher around 14.5 volts and if so measure the voltage at the battery. it should be the same at the battery or within 1/10th of a volt difference. if it is lower than that you have a corroded connection from the alternator to the battery. if the voltage on thealternator output is still at battery voltage 12v with the engine running your alternator is not charging which could be a problem in the regulation side like a bad field wire or a computer failure. as a final test if everything else checks out is to put a load on the system headlights on and check the voltages at those two points again. if the voltage is now different between these two points then again you have a corroded connection between the alt and the battery. if everything checks out ok it looks like you might have something that is now constantly drawing current. post back your results form your checks and we can go forward from there. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
