Q: quality. i can tell you ive beat the snot out of mine once even pressing a u-joint cross through a bearing cap with a sound about as loud as a i missed the original post - how in the *hell* did you manage to do that ive broken a lot of things in a lot of original ways but havent done that one. yeah it was pretty cool i have the u-joint up on top of one of my workbenches as a little trophy. i had the frame of the press around the u-joint and didnt realize the open end the part that receives the cap thats being pressed out was just slightly blocking the path of the bearing cap. as i hammered down on the forcing screw with the impact gun i literally blew out the end of the bearing cap. fun with air tools .

the on-off ... doesnt work on 98 or newer dakotas. i have a 98 and thats why i would like a cheap reader that will do just what your dash and ignition switch can do. im not really that interested in doing a lot of my own work but i would like to know why that pesky light is sometimes lit no other noticable symptoms and have enough info to try and keep the mechanic honest. on sat 21 feb 2004 021703 gmt michael greenwood mgreenwood@pacbell.net wrote sorry for not explaining. if i turn my ignition switch on-off-on-off-on-off-on it gives me a diagnostic code if their is one else it just shows zeros. for instance i do that and the display reads p0273. i then look up the code and see the fault is cylinder #5 injector circuit low . does this reader give *more* info than p0273 --mike i guess i dont understand what youre asking. odometer display were talking about a code reader here not a mileage meter. the reader tells you what error codes the computer has stored in its memory so you can figure out what problems your vehicle has. in short yes it can give a ton more info than your odometer gives. michael greenwood wrote you cant judge the quality of a product based the sample manual provided on the net by a reseller. thats certainly true but it sure doesnt give a good first impression which we first know is everything. you still didnt mention though does it give more info than my odometer display i still cant see spending 40 bucks on something i already have. --mike from my experience the manual that comes with the product from hf is a lot better than the scanned manual. the reason why the code is given is because the code just points you in the right direction. o2 sensor voltage could be anything from corroded wires to a faulty ground somewhere. using a number is easier to point out the exact area to look. i almost got one but the wife said shed get it for me for xmas and then couldnt remember which one i wanted. one of the neighbors got one and ive borrowed it a couple of times. it works very well and the manual is much better in person than the one on the net. you cant judge the quality of a product based the sample manual provided on the net by a reseller. michael greenwood wrote im curious does that reader do anything more than the odometer display on my 03 when i do the key on-off-on-off-on thingy it spits out a code then you just look it up. now...for 40 bucks if the display said o2 sensor voltage instead of a code wed be cookin here. i also looked at the pdf manual available for download. it looked as if it were scanned by my 4 year-old. simply based on that i wouldnt waste the 40 bucks. the product quality is prolly the same. --mike hi has anyone bought the obd ii reader from harbor freight that they sell for $39.99 they call it call a universal code reader catalog no.46030-1hch. is it any good and will it work on my 98 dakota thanks alan to reply by email replace nospam with comcast in my address thanks alan to reply by email replace nospam with comcast in my address .

on mon 23 feb 2004 230358 gmt roy roy@home.net wrote man you must be really bored. resorting to sophomoric name calling is not something i ever thought id see roy fall to. another victory roy. boy when you fall you really do fall hard. i wonder why that is. i have to agree with you here. it is funny to see that the all perfect roy can fall to levels below even what he accuses me of doing. not falling anywhere just responding to some of your and the pussys bs. i think it was the fat remark that set him off tbone. looking over the thread it was when i called him fat that he went off and blew a goiter. hey sorry roy i mean sorry being fat bothers you. look on the good side you can change it just push yourself away from the table now and then. bfg that makes it all ok doesnt it. wrong again pussy. you had the pussy name before you called me fat. like i said before you cant even come up with your own stuff. the fat bit was dennys. like you point out i could change it by pushing away from the table. how you going to change your new name .
