you have a speed sensor out - i had that happen 2x on my dodge dakota - exact same symptoms. it was about a $40 fix to do it myself several years ago on the 92 dakota. thorny on sun 30 may 2004 230352 gmt msyjsy abc@123.com wrote it may be related to a previous problem if you remember the post about the gauges that were pulsing with the blinkers and flashers. yesterday i was burning up some gas and the overdrive stopped kicking in. i am on this overdrive button a lot so i know it was working fine just before this. it had failed to work on a couple of other occasion but i attributed it to not being warmed up. the cruise stopped working at the same time. i got in the truck today and all is normal again. i was beginning to suspect a fuse until now though i imagine it could still be a fuse that is barely hanging on. i do not have a manual and i suspect the fuse panels will not be marked so well and will have me scratching my head when it stops raining i will look and see. until then if any of you have thoughts they would be welcome. 93 dakota le 5.2 liter automatic 4x4 .
