Q: just for the record when you have the truck at the dealership have them do a coolant system pressure check - may determine why the part failed - so that you wont have the problem in the future. for some reason it sounds like the part was exposed to excessive heat. had the same problem with my wifes buick - replaced cap 6 times turned out to be a blown intake manifold gasket. hope this helps john my temp guage has never climbed above its normal reading but ill have them check anyway. hd .
