Q: im having the same problem. water from the ac in the passenger side floor. it looks like some water is coming out of the hole on the firewall but the water is obviously coming from the ac. only accumulates when the ac is run for a period of time. is there a way to fix this problem is there some seal that needs replaced ill keep that in mind and try it someday. dont have time to mess around like that. thanks for the tip. lawrence tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net writes where it starts and how to blow it out from the other end i dont know and was wondering if anyone out there knew how. the other end is inside the hvac unit behind the dash... youre not getting to that. best bet is to get some flexible pipe cleaners/brushes and go at it from the drain end. see if you can remove the elbow so you have a better shot inside the tube. the hvac folks tell my im off my rocker but what has worked for me both to keep this line cleaned out as well as to thwart the dirty sweatsocks smell is to once a year backflush the condensate drain line with common household rubbing alcohol. i use a 4 piece of 3/8 copper tubing with sort of a j bent into the bottom end. i route this down through the engine compartment and connect this j to the end of the drain tube using a short piece of rubber tubing and a miniature hose clamp. back on top another short piece of rubber tubing and a small funnel. i keep pouring rubbing alcohol into the line until it runs out of the condenser inside the cab. plain rubbing alcohol wont harm the carpet and will quickly evaporate. then i place a catch pan i.e. an old cake pan under the truck and disconnect the copper tubing and let the alcohol run back out into the pan. i use a shop rag as a kind of crud filter and pour the recovered alcohol back into the bottle for reuse next year. seems to work. .
