if the lp is shot or going the ip is soon to follow as far as ive read. two questions come up. not so much with the cp3 pump as its capable of pulling fuel as it does in the duramax. however pulling fuel directly from a tank is easier than pulling it through a non-functioning lift pump. first if the lp is shot how long till the ip goes out depends on driving habits that shouldnt even be a consideration. find out now if the lp is working or not. its easy to do. put a catch can underneath the clear drain tube coming off the filter canister. open the yellow drain valve and bump the starter just blib the key to the start position for a fraction of a second. this will activate the lift pump and if its operating youll get a steady stream of fuel out of the drain hose. if operating properly youll get about a quart or more of fuel out so plan your catch can accordingly. second question is a bit more involved. if i take a dead ctd to the dealer and they find the lp and ip dead which is warranteed here is why i ask... both are covered under the 5yr/100k engine warranty. in the dc 7/100 warranty the ip and injectors are covered but it doesnt seem to include the lp. it does. so now a third question. if my ctd dies and i tow it home and replace the lp myself then tow it to the dealer will they cover the dead ip so long as they dont see an aftermarket fuel pump there yes. .

transurgeon wrote once more the federal government could do nothing until the local and state governments requested it to do something but the local and state officials refused to admit they were in over their head i heard the local officials saying they needed 24 hours to think about it before declaring a disaster. .

buy a ford f-650 you can get the 5.9l cummins with a allison craig wrote yes the new 48re 2003 has been problem free for me and everyone else that i know of. i havent heard or read one complaint. you could go with a 6-speed manual and not worry about it at all ... craig c. the jury is still out on that issue. i am not convinced myself. if you plan soem serious towing with a cummins i would go for a manual tranny. the only really good tranny out there right now with a good track record is the allison in gm dmax and 8.1 powered trucks. it is a much better tow tranny with a oil birner and has a deepr first and revesre gear than the dodge tranny too. -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-cummins-diesel-ftopict135491.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=657804 .

my 02 dakota had the lower ball joints replaced at 38000 i also had the top ones replaced per the recall. check the lower shock mount. dont really know if the title of this post is relevant to my problem but here goes. i have an 02 durango and had the ball joints repaired as per the recall back in january of this year. just this past week i started hearing what sounded like a rattle sort of metalic sounding whenever i would hit a bump in the road. it was coming from the drivers side and as far as i could tell was in the front. anyway on monday i took it to my local mechanic and they checked it over. they adjusted some dust shields and wheel well shields in the front of my car. they said they werent on right and were probably causing the rattling. yesterday i started hearing it again and today went back to my mechanic and they told me i should bring it over to my dealer as they were told by the person at the dealer that several people brought their autos back with similar symptoms as mine which were possibly related to the ball joints. has anyone heard of problems resulting from the work on ball joints on their autos i have an appointment next thursday to bring my car in and hopefully will find out then. .

jba wrote my trucks ac compressor started smoking and making noise. the belt broke off also. the compressors wheel has frozen. the truck is a 1996 ram 2500 4x4 with the 360 5.9l v8 i would like to bypass the ac unit and use the belt for the non-ac version of my truck. i would like to point out that the ac didnt work in this truck so i dont mind losing the compressor i can always fix it later. i know i will probably have to remove the acs flywheel. anything else is all this possible the truck is at a job site so i will try the repair with limited tools any tools that are a must have oh man no ac how can you stand it. too hot in louisiana for that. go to the auto parts store and ask them for a belt for your truck. tell them you want on for that model without ac. the should stock one. they should have a diagram somewhere under the hood for belt placement with and without ac. sarge .

j wrote i read an article today online that some manufactures chrysler being mentioned put baffles or valves in the gas filler pipe to deter people from siphoning off gas. anyone know if the durangos have this in them on thu 25 aug 2005 162249 -0600 dale yonz yonzie@mac.com wrote wrote do they make locking gas caps for 1st gen durangos since the cap is tethered to the inside check with dodge parts they should have one. make sure its a mopar part if its not dodge will not warranty it if it should start rusting dale good point...something someone failed to mentioned when i asked this question a few weeks ago....but no problem..anyone who wants to try and steal 2-4 gallons of gas from my durango is really desperate.. around here new brunswick canada they crooks have a new trick. they drill your tank and drain your gas out. --- avast! antivirus outbound message clean. virus database vps 0534-4 26/08/2005 tested on 26/08/2005 104915 am avast! - copyright c 1988-2005 alwil software. http//www.avast.com .
